Duggar: Derick Dillard Says He Still Loves Jill’s Parents After Speaking Poorly Of Them
Duggar fans know that things have been rocky between Derick Dillard and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Recently, Derick opened up in the comments section of one of his Instagram posts and chatted with his followers about his in-laws.
He put the family on blast and talked about them negatively. He said that Jill isn’t allowed at her parents’ without Jim Bob’s permission. Derick also revealed that Jim Bob handles all of the TLC contracts. He said that he didn’t think the show paid cash and referred to it as a “ministry”.
He also revealed that he will be writing a book about the Duggar family. In the book, he will open up about the family and what goes on behind the scenes.
Derick Dillard claims he was deceived by the Duggar family
In a comment, Derick said, “[There are] no hard feelings. There are just more things we are aware of now. The truth will always set you free.”
Then, he continued, “I haven’t trash talked [the family], just answered questions that others should know about us so they’re no longer deceived like we were.”
He also said, “we were pressured to think that we were required to and that we would get sued if we didn’t. It’s not going to look good for TLC when it’s exposed that they pressured an abuse victim to continue filming when we tried to quit, just so they could continue with Jill & Jessa: Counting On after 19K&C.” The same thing ended up happening when the Duggar family agreed to Counting On.

Derick claims he loves his in-laws
Because of all of the comments that Derick has chosen to share, Duggar fans are curious about his relationship with his wife’s family. By the looks of it, things don’t seem stable. He said that he was “deceived”. He shared some unpleasant truths about the family.
So, this led a fan to ask a pressing question about a week ago. In the comments section of one of Derick’s posts, a follower asked if he loves his in-laws. Derick simply said, “Yes,” in response about a week after the question was asked.
Keep in mind that Derick did say he loves his in-laws. This comment doesn’t specify which in-laws. He has plenty of Duggar brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law too.
It’s possible that Derick is choosing to love his family members because he is a Christian. Christians are taught to love others no matter what. A common practice is to “love the sinner, hate the sin”. So, he might not like what his in-laws do, but he still loves them as people.
There is a chance Derick is lying in his response. He has been brutally honest so far though. Because of this, there’s no reason for him to lie after sharing so much already. So, that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
