TLC Cancels Show Amid Josh Duggar Legal Issues

TLC viewers first met the Duggar family on the show 19 Kids and Counting. However, the network canceled 19 Kids in 2015 after it came out that Josh Duggar molested some of his younger siblings.

The reality show was revamped to focus on Jill and Jessa Duggar, at least for the first season. After that, the show was rebranded as simply Counting On and featured more of the Duggar family.

Derick Dillard Gets COVID-19 Vaccine for Free Food

The Duggar family is known for their conservative views. But since marrying Derick Dillard, Duggar daughter Jill has been slowly breaking free. In fact, the couple broke with the family and vaccinated their two kids, Israel and Samuel.

It’s not entirely surprising then, that Derick Dillard recently got the COVID-19 vaccine. However, his post on Instagram received a lot of backlash from fans. Why? Some are opposed to the COVID-19 vaccine no matter what. But others slammed Derick for getting the shot for “free food.”

In his Instagram post, Derick Dillard promoted the vaccination by taking advantage of Chipotle’s free burrito. He wrote in the caption that the free food was a “48.3% factor” in getting vaccinated.

He was clearly joking, but many fans called him out for it. Unfortunately for Chipotle lovers, the free burrito was a one-day deal only. USA Today reported that diners could present their vaccination card on July 6 for a free burrito.

In addition to Chipotle, Derick Dillard’s next stop was Krispy Kreme for their free donut. In March, the donut chain announced 1 FREE Original Glazed doughnut with proof of vaccine. Unlike the Chipotle deal, Krispy Kreme’s free donut offer is good through the rest of 2021.
