Jim Bob Duggar Announces Run For Office Amid Son Josh’s Latest Scandal
Former 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On star Jim Bob Duggar is running for office in Arkansas. The TLC personality announced his run on Friday morning. This news comes as a shock amid his son Josh Duggar’s child pornography scandal. Read on to get all of the details.
Josh Duggar’s Scandal
For those who may not know, Jim Bob’s eldest son, Josh, is currently involved in a child pornography scandal. After a nearly two-year federal investigation, Josh was arrested for both receiving and possessing child pornography. The downloads were traced back to the IP address at Josh’s car lot in Arkansas.
Up to this point, Josh has pled not guilty and refused multiple plea deals. His trial is slated for November 30, and he’s facing decades in prison if found guilty. His latest scandal has had the Duggars in headlines for months.
Despite the charges Josh is facing, sources say his parents and wife, Anna Duggar, are standing by his side. Anna even brings their six children to visit him. Currently, Josh is staying with a legal guardian and must abide by a set of conditions.
Jim Bob Duggar Announces State Senate Run
On Friday morning, Jim Bob announced that he’s running for office, according to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Despite the Duggar family making headlines amid Josh’s arrest, Jim Bob has decided to go through with this. Jim Bob will be a candidate for the Arkansas State Senate District 7 seat. Sen. Lance Eads, R-Springdale resigned, leaving a vacant seat.
“I am honored to announce my candidacy for Arkansas State Senate District 7. Northwest Arkansas is my lifelong home. It’s where my wife, Michelle, and I have raised our 20 children. It’s where we’ve grown our small businesses, “Jim Bob said in a statement. He added, “It’s where we’ve built a life centered around our faith, family and friends.”
“I’m running for state Senate because these are unprecedented times in our nation,” he said. “Out-of-control bureaucrats have put politics over common-sense policy with government mandates that force people to choose between earning a paycheck and violating their personal rights and beliefs.”
“Now more than ever, we need a bold voice that is pro-family, pro-business, pro-gun and pro-life,” Jim Bob said. “It’s time for conservatives to demand courageous leadership that puts Arkansas families, jobs, and our constitutional liberties first. I look forward to being your voice in the Arkansas State Senate.”

I used to love watching this family because if their family and Christian values. When the scandal first broke about Josh molesting his sisters and how they covered it up, I was heartbroken. Yet, the scandals continue with Josh from Ashley Madison to child porn. It annoys me that they espouse family values yet continue to back up Josh. Jim Bob will not win this election because I believe there are a lot of people who think he’s a hypocrite and a phony.
Oh, Ms. Floor, a godly man doesn’t turn his back on his innocent daughter-in-law and grandchildren, or even his sinful son. He helps and supports the innocent and continues to love and pray for his son. Jesus never shunned sinners. He loved them and drew them to himself. LOVE NEVER FAILS. I will continue to pray for and support the Duggar family. I believe Jim Bob will be a great Senator.
