Josh Duggar’s latest scandal has been full of surprises with new information about his case surfacing often. Now, a source is talking about what’s going on with the Duggar family right now. Since Josh’s arrest, they have been laying low and rarely post on social media. They shared one statement on his arrest, but they haven’t revealed any additional information.
Since Josh’s arrest, sources have come out and said different things about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, but the family themselves still hasn’t said much.
For those who may not know, Josh was arrested earlier this year for the possession of child pornography. He’s pleaded not guilty, and according to a source, his wife Anna Duggar also believes he’s innocent. She reportedly brings her six children to visit Josh at his guardians’ home and spends a lot of time there.
What’s going on with Jim Bob and Michelle’s family?
A family source spoke to People about the Duggars and revealed what’s happening after Josh’s arrest. His arrest is affecting the family in a big way and appears to be creating a wedge between members of the family.
The source said, “They aren’t as close as they once were because of all of Josh’s legal drama. It’s creating a lot of stress on them — although the majority of the family is acting like nothing has happened.”
When Josh was arrested, a few of his siblings spoke out about the charges and condemned child pornography. But not everyone made a statement, and some are still staying quiet months later.
Jim Bob Duggar wants Josh’s scandal swept under the rug.
The source also revealed that Jim Bob and Michelle are still supporting Josh despite the disturbing charges he’s facing. They “are very much standing by their son,” said the source.
“Jim Bob always wants to sweep things under the rug,” the family source shared. “He’s never going to talk about the scandal because it’s bad for business.”
Josh’s trial is coming up in November, so we will see what happens at that point. There appears to be a lot of damning evidence against Josh, but his legal team is trying hard to build a defense and even asked to have the charges dismissed.
