Hallmark’s Countdown To Christmas 2021 promises a lot of mystery and music, and A Christmas Treasure promises both. This highly-anticipated Christmas movie stars Jordin Sparks (American Idol, Sparkle), and Michael Xavier (Christmas Comes Twice, Beware Of The Midwife).
Besides some mysterious surprises in a family time capsule, there will be plenty of music. Sparks sings two classic Christmas songs in the movie, covering “This Christmas,” and on the piano, “Oh Holy Night.” In addition, her original song from her 2020 Christmas album Cider & Hennessy, “Oh, It’s Christmas,” will be in this Hallmark movie.

Ready to uncover the time capsule secrets in A Christmas Treasure? According to the Hallmark press release, Christmas in Pine Grove will be extra special this holiday season. That is because the Webb family plans to open a 100-year-old time capsule that was buried when the town was founded.
While enjoying all the town’s festivities surrounding the big reveal and continuing to work at her family’s newspaper, Lou (Sparks) finalizes her plans to further her writing career by moving to New York after Christmas.
However, things change when they open up the time capsule. When Lou finds her grandfather’s old journal, she starts to question her plans. Now she wonders if she should stay in Pine Grove. She now thinks her destiny is to carry out her family’s legacy.
In addition, Lou may have met someone. A charming chef, Kyle (Xavier), is making his way into her heart. He has his own career crossroads, as he is visiting Pine Grove for the holidays. Now, Lou has cast more serious doubts on her New York plans.

Hallmark fans love Nelson Wong (A Timeless Christmas, Christmas At The Plaza). As director Sir Ron Oliver (Real Housewives Of The North Pole) is not making a Hallmark movie this year, fans may have been concerned that they would not see the talented character actor in a 2021 Christmas movie.
However, in A Christmas Treasure, we have no information on who Kenny portrays. By the looks of the preview photo, he could be a mayor or master of ceremonies. Wong has been in a cornucopia of Hallmark movies, and often he plays a character called Kenny Kwan/Kwon. The name may be the same, but the characters are always different and delightful.
