ABC has been slow in confirming specific details about the upcoming seasons of Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelorette. Luckily for fans, blogger Reality Steve has the scoop. His latest bombshell is who will host Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette, airing later this year.
Bachelor Nation Fans Get TWO Bachelorette Seasons This Year
While Season 25 of The Bachelor was airing earlier this year, a media storm was surrounding contestant Rachael Kirkconnell. Viral photos surfaced of the front-runner attending an antebellum-themed college party. Longtime Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison saw the photos and took it upon himself to appear on Extra to defend Rachael.
However, what happened was his interview with Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay went off the rails. Critics accused Chris of excusing the contestant’s racially insensitive behavior. As a result of the fervor, Harrison took a step back from hosting the show.
He continued appearing on Matt James’s season, as it had already been filmed. However, when it came time for the After the Final Rose special, the network brought in Emmanuel Acho as temporary host.
During ATFR, it was announced that there would be two seasons of The Bachelorette in 2021. Katie Thurston’s season is currently airing on ABC. Michelle Young will get a second chance at finding love later this fall.
Filming is supposed to begin soon, as Young could only film during the summer so the schoolteacher wouldn’t miss any classes.
With Chris Harrison sidelined, the network tapped former Bachelorette leads Kaitlyn Bristowe (Season 11) and Tayshia Adams (Season 16) as co-hosts. Then Chris Harrison announced that he wouldn’t be returning to the franchise at all. That means ABC needed to find another host for Season 18 of The Bachelorette.
ABC Finally Confirms Bachelor in Paradise Cast List
The announcement that Kaitlyn and Tayshia would host Season 17 didn’t come until right before filming started. In fact, Katie Thurston supposedly didn’t know who was going to host until Kaitlyn and Tayshia showed up in New Mexico to surprise her.
Clearly, ABC has not been on the ball with announcing details of the upcoming Bachelor Nation shows. Chris Harrison’s exit statement came shortly after the network revealed plans for rotating celebrity hosts for Season 7 of Bachelor In Paradise.
The hosting change was announced before the names of the alums who appear on Paradise. However, as Good Morning America reported, ABC finally confirmed the BiP contestant list last week.
Viewers will recognize Abigail Heringer, Chelsea Vaughn, “Queen” Victoria Larson, and a few others from Matt James’s season of Bachelor.
Now that the details about BiP are out, fans are turning their attention to Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette. With Chris Harrison out, who will host?
So, Who Will Host Michelle Young’s Season?
ABC is keeping mum on Michelle Young’s suitors and who will host. But lucky for fans of the franchise, Reality Steve has inside sources. And his sources just told him who will host Season 18 of The Bachelorette.
Kaitlyn and Tayshia will return as hosts and mentors for Michelle Young’s season.
(BACHELORETTE HOST UPDATE): Kaitlyn and Tayshia will be returning to co-host Michelle’s season of the “Bachelorette” when it begins filming later this month. I’ll have some filming updates, locations, and timelines in my column on Tuesday.— RealitySteve (@RealitySteve) July 11, 2021
Fans have mixed reactions to how the duo are doing with Katie Thurston’s season. So, it’s no surprise that Reality Steve’s tweet also received mixed responses.
Some fans are loving the Girl Power of Kaitlyn and Tayshia. But other fans will not accept anyone other than Chris Harrison as host.
