Whitney Way Thore Shares Scary Fan Encounter
Whitney Way Thore has been a reality TV show starlet since 2015. That was the year her TLC show My Big Fat Fabulous Life premiered. She has amassed a large following that keeps up with her every move. However, one fan stepped way over the bounds. Whitney Way Thore shared the scary fan encounter with her Instagram followers.
Fans Anxiously Awaiting Season 9 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Throughout the early seasons of MBFFL, viewers saw Whitney Way Thore struggling with the single life. The Season 7 finale ended with Whitney’s engagement to boyfriend Chase Severino. However, the relationship didn’t make it past Season 8. Even before filming began, fans of the show found out online that Chase had cheated on Whitney. To make matters worse, he was expecting a baby with the other woman.
Season 8 focused mainly on the drama of Chase and Whitney’s relationship ending. In the clip below, Whitney finds out that the baby came early and was upset that Chase didn’t tell her.
While the show has a lot of fans, some of them believe the show is scripted and are tired of the dramatics. TLC has yet to announce if the show will return for Season 9, but it seems likely.
Whitney Way Thore Reveals Scary Fan Encounter
With all those fans, Whitney Way Thore is bound to encounter a crazy, right? On June 3, she took to her Instagram Stories to detail a bonkers incident that happened that morning with a fan. Whitney Way Thore recounted that she was asleep in her bed – and she sleeps naked – when someone knocked on her door.
She knew she was getting a delivery at some point during the day, so she threw on a robe and went to the door. On her Instagram Stories, she describes what she saw when she got to the door: A young girl in her 20s or so.
Whitney said that when she opened the door, the young girl squealed, “oh my god,” and that’s when she knew it was a fan of MBFFL.
What Did Whitney Do?
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star called the fan showing up at her house “wildly inappropriate.” Whitney was obviously surprised by the random visit from a stranger. She said on her Stories that she looked the fan “dead in the eyes” and told her she shouldn’t have come to the house.
Then she slammed the door. However, she clarified that it wasn’t a real slam because her door doesn’t slam. But if she could, she would have. However, in true Whitney fashion, she immediately started feeling guilty.
She said that she probably ruined the fan’s day, but that wasn’t her intention. Whitney Way Thore shared the story with her followers to gauge if her response was reasonable.

Did She Overreact in Her Response? Fans Weigh In
Fans stalking celebrities is nothing new. Whitney even said that interacting with fans comes with the territory. However, she doesn’t think it’s okay for anyone to show up at her house. She said it makes her feel unsafe and uncomfortable.
And many fans do not blame her a bit. Almost 100% of her followers agreed that a fan showing up at her house is not okay.
