Duggar Family Makes Statement Following Josh’s Arrest
On Thursday, Josh Duggar was arrested by the federal government. On Friday, he was in court and his charges were made public. He has been charged for receiving and possessing child pornography. Following his arrest, most of the Duggar family remained silent, but now Michelle and Jim Bob are speaking out about Josh.
Josh and his wife Anna share six kids and have one more on the way. Now, it’s looking like Anna will be a single mom since Josh is no longer allowed to see his children.
In a statement about Josh on their blog, the Duggar family writes:
“We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family.”
Prior to making this statement, the family restricted the comments on their Instagram page so only a select number of people can comment. This helps to weed out some of the negative comments.
The family shared the link to their recent blog post on their Instagram stories as well, but they have not made a main social media post about it yet.

As mentioned, the Duggar family has been pretty quiet about Josh’s arrest. Since Michelle and Jim Bob issued a statement, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo have too. In a statement, the couple writes, “We are disturbed to hear of the charges against Josh. While this case must go through the legal system, we want to make it clear that we absolutely condemn any form of child abuse and fully support authorities and judicial process in their pursuit of justice.”
On Friday morning, Jill and Derick Dillard shared an exclusive statement with ET, revealing that they had just learned of the news and that they were sad about it.
It’s likely that more of the family members will speak out about Josh’s arrest soon. More updates should come soon, as Josh’s next hearing is on May 5. At that time, his bond may be set.
