The Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King has thoughts on the notion that women can have it all. The reality star opens up about balancing work, a new relationship and raising her three young children. She can’t do it and neither, she says, can other moms. And that’s okay, Meghan tells her fans.

RHOC Star Writes Blog Post About ‘Balance’

As fans likely know, the RHOC alum has three children. 3-year-old Aspen and 2-year-old twins, Hayes and Hart. She split from Jim Edmonds in late 2019 after five years of marriage. The two are currently duking it out over their prenup and child support

While the three kids spend significant time with Jim, Meghan considers herself a single mother. Despite sharing custody and having a live-in nanny, Meghan reveals that she still struggles for ‘balance.’ She took to her blog earlier this week to share her experience and offer advice to others in the same boat, Us Weekly reports.

Meghan begins her blog with the rhetorical question of finding balance. She doesn’t, she writes. And neither do other moms. Rather, they “sacrifice a little bit to do it all.” Meghan co-hosts a podcast, Intimate Knowledge, with actress Brooke Burke.

In promoting the blog post, Meghan took her to Instagram to share a silly photo of her keeping her ‘balance’ while sitting in an office chair. She sends fans to her bio for a link to the lengthy blog post about “how [she does] it.”

This isn’t the RHOC star’s first blog about being a single mom. Back in May, she wrote another post with the title “Diary of a Single Mom.” That post was about being in quarantine with three young children. She likened it to “house arrest.”

In her most recent blog, Meghan writes about the struggles of being a ‘modern mom.’ She writes, “[Moms] run on fumes, beat ourselves up over the relentless  ‘mom-guilt.’” But somehow still  “feel like we’re always one step behind.”

The ‘Modern Mom’ Juggles a Long-Distance Relationship After Split

When it comes to being a mom in 2020, Meghan notes the “cultural gender shift.” She writes that moms are expected to be a “housewife” while trying to “even the pay gap.” Meghan feels that modern mothers have a “burden of expectations” of being able to do it all.

Meghan admits that her struggles as a single mom also include juggling “dating long-distance.” She’s referring to her new boyfriend, Christian Schauf. While Meghan splits her time between California and Missouri, Christian lives and works in Park City, Utah. He owns an outdoor survival gear company, Uncharted Supply Co.

Meghan recently spent July 4th with Christian in Wisconsin. While her three children sometimes join the new couple, they were presumably with Jim in St. Louis for the weekend.

Meghan Offers Advice to Others Struggling to Find ‘Balance’

The RHOC alum leaves her fans with several tidbits of advice. First of all, “everything is relative.” What she means by that is not to compare situations with other women. It may look like someone else has it ‘easier,’ but Meghan assures followers that the other woman “can’t balance it either.”

That brings Meghan to her second piece of advice: “Just know you’re not alone.”

Finally, Meghan encourages women to “keep juggling.”
