NBC announced that The Voice will join Manifest on Mondays and This is Us and New Amsterdam on Tuesdays. Additionally, Delish reports that The Voice has Team Gwen and Team Nick “at odds about the news.”
Why is Nick Jonas leaving The Voice?
At this time, Nick Jonas has not released a statement about the new judge lineup for The Voice. However, there is speculation that he may not want to leave. Newsweek brings to light the timeline of Gwen Stefani’s commitments. Stefani did not judge in Season 18 because she had her Las Vegas residency. Additionally, due to the coronavirus, her Just a Girl concert ended two days before The Voice began. However, this is the same day that Jonas’ tour with the Jonas Brothers wrapped up too.
Newsweek also mentions that The Jonas Brothers may be aligning their schedules to have their own Las Vegas residency whenever concerts resume. Sadly, due to coronavirus, the trio canceled their Vegas residency in April. However, there have been no announcements regarding their rescheduled concert dates.
How does Gwen Stefani feel about her return to The Voice?
Stefani made the announcement of her return to The Voice coach’s chair Instagram official. The No Doubt frontwomen captions a collage photo of boyfriend, Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson with, “Cannot wait!!”
It appears that her fans are on board with her return to the singing competition. One fan describes Stefani’s return as, “the best news in 2020.” Even Shelton took to Twitter to tweet, “Ya’ll hear?! @gwenstefani’s back and so is @nbcthevoice!!!”

On that note, DailyMail reports that while Stefani originally did not want to get remarried until she had her previous marriage annulled. Additionally, a source states “she doesn’t want to wait any longer to marry the country singer as they are ‘stronger than ever’.”

Understandably, fans of Team Nick are not happy about the news. One fan even writes on Instagram, “Guess I won’t be watching. I loved having Nick on.” Apparently, Stefani and Shelton aren’t the only ones with undeniable chemistry. Another fan suggests adding Jonas on as a fifth judge.
However, CNN confirms that Carson Daly will remain the host. Stefani, Shelton, Legend, and Clarkson will judge Season 19. Realistically, CNN also points out that while the show is returning, it is “unclear if judges will work remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.”
