Jamie Otis Shares ‘Miraculous’ Homebirth Photos
Jamie Otis of The Bachelor and Married At First Sight just became a mom of two. She and her husband Doug Hehner, who she met on MAFS, welcomed their son to the world in mid-May. They named the baby boy Hendrix Douglas Hehner. He joins big sister Gracie.
Fans of Jamie may know that she had a homebirth. This is due to the coronavirus. She didn’t want to give birth in a hospital and risk becoming infected. If that happened, she would have to be separated from her baby for a couple of weeks while she recovered. Plus, she also didn’t want her son to catch the virus. So, a home birth was the best decision for her, given the circumstances.

Jamie Otis is a labor and delivery nurse, so she knows that giving birth in a hospital is a safe option. Normally, she likely would have given birth at a hospital. But, because of the virus, she made a different decision.
On social media, Jamie has been very open about her homebirth experience. From what she says, it sounds like it was an amazing experience for her. The former Bachelor star and her husband talk about the birth on a recent episode of Hot Marriage, Cool Parents on Lifetime. She also promises a homebirth video on YouTube. But, with two small kids, it could understandably be a while before she and Doug get around to editing the video.

On social media, Jamie shares a new post about the birth of her son. In the post, she shares a few photos from her birth at home. These photos are very raw. They feature the MAFS alum while she’s in labor. She describes her experience, saying, “The absolute hardest, but most MIRACULOUS & rewarding thing I’ve ever done is give birth to my baby unmedicated.”
Then, the mom continues talking about how amazing the homebirth was, adding, “Having an unmedicated home birth was INCREDIBLE. Not gonna life, it def hurt … but the BOND we had the moment I held him in my arms was worth every single contraction, tear & stitch!”

In response, her followers are very impressed with her. They also appreciate the words of encouragement that she offers to anyone who’s expecting a baby. One fan asked Jamie where Gracie was during the birth. Jamie reveals that Gracie was outside with her babysitter while the baby was being born.
Doug sweetly commented, writing, “I look at @jamienotis in a whole new light. I thought she was a strong person before, but now she is super woman in my mind.”
