‘RHOA’: Shereé Whitfield Explains Why Her Mom Went Missing Last Month
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Shereé Whitfield has an update on how her mom is feeling these days. At the beginning of April, Thelma Ferguson gave Shereé and her family quite a scare by going off-grid for weeks.
Fans and former co-stars rallied around Shereé and her mom eventually came home safe. The former RHOA star is opening up about why her mom needed a breather.

RHOA Alum: My Mom Just Needed ‘Some Time’ Away
Shereé was the guest on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live show on Sunday, May 10. The show aired right after part 1 of the RHOA Season 12 reunion episode. Appearing alongside Shereé via videochat was Bravo superfan, actor Michael Rapaport.
Andy started off by asking Shereé how her mother is doing. The RHOA alum’s mom is “doing absolutely amazing.” Thelma is “healthy” and “happy,” Shereé shared.
Shereé’s mom disappeared on March 23 after going to the bank. Shereé posted on social media hoping to locate her mother. During her appearance on WWHL, Shereé notes that all of her former co-stars, including NeNe Leakes, reached out to her to offer their support.
Thelma eventually returned on April 10. Shereé offered Andy and fans an explanation for the disappearance. While Shereé notes that her mom has gone off-grid before, it was never for so long and without warning.
Shereé said her mom “needed some time” to herself. At the time, Thelma was staying with Shereé and Shereé’s three adult children. The RHOA star thinks that everyone “getting on each other’s nerves” was part of why her mom fled.
Shereé Agrees That Friendship Between NeNe Leakes is ‘Strategic’
NeNe’s friendship with talk show host Wendy Williams came up for discussion during the RHOA reunion. According to People, Kenya Moore considers the relationship between the women to be “strategic” on NeNe’s part.
Kenya believes that NeNe “feeds” information to Wendy to get it out to the viewers without it coming back to NeNe.
During the WWHL rapid-fire question segment, Andy asked Shereé and Michael to share their thoughts. Shereé immediately agreed that the friendship is “strategic.” Michael took a more roundabout way to agree.
He explained that Hollywood friends are different from regular friends.
Would She Return to RHOA?
RHOA fans want to know, of course, if Shereé would ever come back to the show. Along with NeNe, Shereé is one of the original stars of RHOA. She left the Bravo show after Season 5. Shereé briefly returned for Seasons 9 and 10 before leaving again.
Shereé doesn’t seem particularly interested in returning to RHOA, noting that she’s in a “different place right now.” However, she doesn’t give a hard no. Rather, she teases fans, “Never say never.”
Fans Think Porsha Williams Owned Part 1 of Virtual Reunion
RHOA fans were very skeptical of a virtual reunion. However, they were pleasantly surprised by how the ladies brought the drama. One star in particular garnered praise on social media – Porsha Williams.
Porsha had some of the best one-liners of the night. During a heated exchange with co-star Eva Marcille, Porsha said that Eva’s breasts were “social distancing” from each other.
