Counting On star Jessa Duggar Seewald has started posting YouTube videos regularly. This is a way for her to make some extra money and share her knowledge with the world. Her older sister, Jana also has a YouTube channel.
Jessa has covered a few different topics so far. She’s talked about her kids being picky eaters, how she organizes, and more. Lately, she’s been sharing how she cuts her kids’ hair. So far, she has filmed a tutorial for cutting Henry’s hair and Spurgeon’s hair. The mom-of-three shared two separate videos because the boys’ hairstyles are very different. Spurgeon’s curly hair requires a different cut than Henry’s.
Fans are hoping for a little girl’s haircut tutorial soon. They’ll have to wait a while though, because Ivy doesn’t have enough hair for a trim yet. Maybe Jessa will film more videos using some of her siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Not everyone likes Jessa’s haircut tutorials
In a thread on Reddit, a few Duggar viewers started talking about Jessa’s haircutting techniques. Someone said, “I’m not trying to be picky because I don’t like her and god knows I’m no expert but this technique is off…no?” To that, a cosmetologist responded, “Cosmetologist here. Yes her technique sucks.”
Some Reddit users even poked fun at the phrases Jessa used in her video. One person wrote, “I’d like to start a drinking game with these haircut videos. Shots all around every time Jessa says ‘you can always take off more, but you can’t glue it back on!'”
Because Jessa and the rest of the Duggar family are in the public eye, they often get criticized. In the past, Jessa has been known to clap back at mom-shamers.
Duggar fans react to new video from Jessa
Of course, there are plenty of Counting On fans who love Jessa’s YouTube channel. She received positive comments on both Instagram and YouTube after sharing the video. Many fans applauded Jessa for her haircutting skills and said that the haircuts turned out great.
Fans like that both Spurgeon and Henry looked comfortable with their mom cutting their hair. Some parents noted that their kids had a hard time getting their hair cut at salons because they didn’t know the stylist.

If you’re looking for a simple tutorial for cutting your little boy’s hair, I made this video for you! To watch the full video, click the link in my bio or go to YouTube.com/Jessa Seewald Do not be intimidated! You can do this! It’s not as complicated as it might seem. While they’re young, I’m not giving them a super short buzz because I prefer a more carefree, classic, little boy look. Trimming up the hair around the ears and along the neckline really helps to give it a nice fresh look, and from there I taper out to leave more length on top.
Fans in the comments are excited to see what she posts next. One Duggar fan wrote, “Would you consider doing some ‘mom’ videos on grocery shopping, bugeting, cleaning, managing time, etc? [sic]” Another fan asked to see Jessa cut Ben’s hair.
Several fans though that Spurgeon was absolutely adorable in the video. They thought he was very well-behaved. Some of them quoted Spurgeon in their comments, saying, “Almost is a long time!”
Some viewers think Jessa should go to cosmetology school
In the comments section of her post and on Reddit, several people have mentioned Jessa going to cosmetology school. Someone said that it would be a good idea because it’s a job that she could do from home. Someone else said that it would be great if she could go to an Aveda school because, “she seems to really like hair.”
