Derick Dillard Throws Dark Shade At Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar’s Strict Parenting
For years, Derick Dillard has been shading his in-laws, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. As Counting On fans know, Jill and Derick left the family’s show years ago, noting that they weren’t paid fairly for their time. However, it’s unclear what the real story is. Nonetheless, since then, there has been some distance between Jill and her parents. Jill has been open about setting boundaries with her parents and not inviting them to every event.
Now, Derick is throwing more shade at Jim Bob and Michelle, further showing he disapproves of the way they live their lives and raise their children.
Derick Dillard makes a comment on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s lifestyle.
On his Instagram page, Derick shared a new post in honor of his and Jill’s eight-year dating anniversary. In his post, the Duggar son-in-law dropped a huge bombshell about his relationship with Jill ahead of their marriage. Rather than referring to their relationship as a courtship, he specifically said that they were “dating.” He also mentioned that they went on an “unchaperoned” date, which doesn’t fly in the Duggar family. So, it sounds like he and Jill were breaking some of Jim Bob and Michelle’s rules as they began their relationship. And now, he isn’t afraid to admit it.
He wrote, “8 years ago today I started dating my best friend @jillmdillard while I was working on the other side of the world! I definitely enjoyed our unchaperoned motorcycle ride around the area 😉 And I have fond memories of the extra week we had over Thanksgiving to enjoy more intimate time together and get to know each other even better 🙂 If I had a GED in knowing you then, I want a Ph.D. 50 years from now! 😘”
While we don’t know for sure whether Jim Bob and Michelle saw this post, it would be difficult for them to avoid it. Plus, it’s public, so anyone can see it. At this point, Jill and Derick are happily married with two sons. So maybe Jim Bob and Michelle don’t care so much.
