Sami is back! People have reported that Alison Sweeney is reprising her role for Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas. In this first-ever DOOL Christmas movie, Sami’s son Will Horton is an aspiring screenwriter, whose deadline is Christmas Eve.
Expect some of the usual Christmas movie tropes, perhaps with a soapy twist? It will be interesting to see how they explain Sami’s return, as Sweeney was more recently written off of the show because her character was kidnapped.
Meanwhile, Alison Sweeney has already starred in a 2021 Christmas movie, Hallmark’s Open By Christmas. No one will complain that she is in two this year! Although that movie has premiered, there are many encore showings between now and the end of the year.
Alison Sweeney Loves To Play Sami On Days Of Our Lives
Back in July, Alison Sweeney shared a BTS photo on Instagram for #throwbackthursday. She wrote, “Playing Sami is so much fun. 😉 #tbt #throwbackthursday #sami.”
It is no surprise that she loves to play this role. Sami does a lot of crazy things. You never know what to expect. Moreover, Alison has been playing Sami since she was 16.
In January 1993, she debuted on the NBC show. Now, nearly 30 years later, she is one of the stars of the DOOL Christmas movie.

Days Of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney has a lot going on in 2022. Speaking to TV Shows Ace in an exclusive interview, she has been working on more Chronicle Mysteries.
In addition, she would like to see more Hannah Swensen mysteries. Sweet Revenge: A Hannah Swensen Mystery was a huge hit for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. It is still in the top ten most-watched movies for the sister channel in 2021. However, there is no news on whether she will be doing any more of these tasty mysteries.
What is also on the Hallmark 2022 docket is The Wedding Veil trilogy. This was filmed earlier in the year and should see the light sometime in 2022. There is a trilogy of movies that feature Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reeser, and Alison, as well as Kevin McGarry. Very little is known about these three movies, only that this is a project from Lacey.
