Happy Christmas Hearties. Jack is back! Although he is not returning to Hope Valley, he is headed to Brookfield. Moreover, this is announced on Daniel Lissing’s 40th birthday!

On Monday, GAC went to social media to make a very shocking announcement. “Looks who’s come to #GreatAmericanChristmas on GAC Family!” Daniel Lissing is joining Lori Loughlin in When Hope Calls.

This is a surprise move that will surely send Hearties in droves to sign up for GAC Family. This network was started by former Hallmark CEO, Bill Abbott.

Here is what we know now.

Daniel Lissing Joins When Hope Calls

On Monday, Deadline reported that Daniel Lissing will “reunite” with his former When Calls The Heart co-star, Lori Loughlin, in the When Hope Calls Season 2, two-part Christmas special. This will be on the new GAC Family network.

The first two episodes are called When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas Part 1, Part 2. The publication did not share what his role was. They stated that “Lissing’s role is being kept under wraps for now.”

However, this may be a good time to speculate.

Is Jack Thornton The ‘Dear Friend’ Abigail Has A ‘Profound Conversation’ With?

What sort of mystery role is Daniel Lissing playing? We can only assume that he is returning to this world as Jack Thornton, the beloved mountie who tragically died at the end of Season 5 of When Calls The Heart.

Ever since they announced that Lori Loughlin was coming to When Hope Calls Season 2, Hearties have wondered about the second episode description.

According to the GAC press release, “In the World Premiere of When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, Part 2, photojournalist Paul Franklin is wrapping his research on the community of Brookfield as a contender for America’s #1 Country Christmas Town. By now, Paul blends in as the town prepares for Christmas Eve. Lillian, the orphans, and Gabriel are running out of options to restore the troubled boy’s hope for better times. Just when all seems lost, a secret Santa appears to fulfill all holiday wishes, and Abigail has a profound conversation with a dear friend from the past. Meanwhile, Paul’s lens is recording every miraculous moment.”

Who is the “dear friend from the past.” Moreover, what sort of “profound conversation” do they have? Most WCTH fans assumed that it would be Henry, Abigail’s love interest.

Will Daniel Lissing Be ‘Ghost Jack Thornton’?

It always seemed like an impossible dream to see Daniel Lissing back in this world. That is why  was Jack never considered to be the “old friend” that Abigail speaks to. That just seemed impossible.

For years, fans have wanted Daniel Lissing to come back as the ghost of Jack Thornton. Lissing even told the Deck the Hallmark podcast that he was very open to returning as a ghost, or even in a movie with Erin Krakow, who played Jack’s wife Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton.

GAC has not said what his role is, but they will air this in just over two months. Hearties will certainly be glued to their seats!

  1. I think Jack needs to come back to Elizabeth in when calls the heart. I don’t think Lucas is the right one for her. And Jack could come back as maybe found later alive
