Is Kim Kardashian Riding Kylie Jenner’s Coat Tails?! Copies Rebrand Plan
Kylie Jenner has been following Kim Kardashian’s lead when it comes to business plans for years. However, now the tables seem to be taking a turn. Now, Kim Kardashian is following in her little sister’s footsteps.
Kim Kardashian does a rebrand
Kim has announced that she will be changing things up with KKW Beauty. The brand was created years ago for cream contour products, and quickly expanded to makeup, body care, and more. Now, she has shut the site down.
Kim shared a message both on her personal account and on the KKW account announcing the brand will be shut down. It’s not closing forever, but it will start going through some changes swiftly.
“We’re currently away working on a new, more modern, elevated, and sustainable brand and customer experience – the way Kim has always envisioned,” the one post left on KKW’s Instagram says. “Thank you for being on this incredible journey with us. We promise we won’t be gone for too long.”
Kim Kardashian shares a personal note too so everyone knew exactly why she is doing this.
“On August 1st at midnight we will be shutting down the KKWBeauty.com site so that we can come back to you under a completely new brand with new formulas that are more modern, innovative, and packaged in an elevated and sustainable new look. I’m excited to continue to develop and expand my product range and for you to finally be able to experience it the way that I have always envisioned.” she writes on the post.
Kylie Cosmetics just did the same thing
This all seems great, however, it also seems like Kim is just copying her little sister’s plan. Kylie Jenner literally just did the exact same thing for her brand, Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie shut down her site, wiped her social, and then totally relaunched everything.
She did hers to freshen up her brand and make sure every single one of her products was vegan and cruelty-free.
While both the brands could stand to have a rebrand, it seems pretty odd that Kim’s went directly after Kylie’s. Could there be some sort of competition or reason for this to happen to the sisters?
