Are you excited about the return? Many fans found Season 29 disappointing, but it could have been much worse. Many shows completely canceled their 2020 season altogether. So You Think You Can Dance was noticeably absent from Fox’s lineup last summer.

Pros feel hopeful for Dancing With The Stars Season 30 after a less than spectacular Season 29

It’s pretty likely all the pros missed having a living audience on stage. And most of them probably weren’t very happy about quarantining away from their family members while putting in grueling hours backstage. But Val Chmerkovskiy has probably been the most vocal member of the cast so far.

“I’ve never taken our audience for granted, but this last season was a shadow of itself because of that element being gone,” Val told TV Insider. “I love the congregation. I love the gathering and getting together. What we create [is] one part and the other is the audience to share it with.”

But will there be a live audience for Season 30 yet? ABC would probably love to have a live audience for the landmark season. But the network hasn’t made a formal announcement yet.

Everyone’s favorite dance show picks up plenty of Emmy nominations

Even though not everyone loved DWTS Season 29, others were really impressed with how well the show came together. It’s not easy hosting a live competition in the middle of a pandemic.

In fact, DWTS received five Emmy nominations for the 2020 season. Reigning champ Artem Chigvintsev and judge Derek Hough are both up for “Oustanding Choreography for Reality or Variety Programming.”

If you need a bit of a refresher, Derek Hough performed a Paso Doble with Hayley Erbert in the middle of the season. His performance shocked audience members all over the country, so it’s not surprising Derek received an Emmy.

Artem’s nomination is for his Argentine Tango to “Toxic” with Kaitlyn Bristowe. This routine received a perfect score from the judges and many feel solidified their win last year.

If you want to tune in and see how DWTS does at the Emmys, you can catch the award ceremony on September 19 at 8 PM. This is just one day before Dancing With The Stars Season 30 premieres, so set your timers!
