Dancing With The Stars Season 30 will be here before you know it. We still don’t know which celebrities will join this milestone season. However, judge Derek Hough has someone in mind that he’d really like to see compete for the Mirrorball Trophy.

“I think it’d be really cool to see one of the D’Amelio sisters on there,” the DWTS judge said in an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life. “Charli’s a really talented dancer and she’s obviously crushing it in the content, TikTok world. I think she would be really good. I think she’d be awesome!”

Derek met the sisters, Charli, 17, and Dixie, 19, previously and really enjoyed the experience.

“They were obviously super sweet! When I met their mom and dad, they’re were like, Oh, we’ve seen you live, we were in the front row! And it was awesome… and to see them just explode, it’s super cool,” he told Hollywood Life.

Does Derek Hough think the D’Amelio sisters would have an unfair advantage with their background?

Charli does have a dance background. So does that put her at an overall advantage? Derek Hough says no.

“If you want to be a high-quality dancer, nothing will ever replace training. Nothing will ever replace being in the studio, working hours and hours, and learning,” Derek continued. “Having mentors and going through the process– you will always need that to reach a certain level of quality. That doesn’t mean popularity, you might be super popular… But nothing will ever replace proper training.”

In other words, it doesn’t matter if a contestant has a dance background if they’re not willing to put the time in behind the scenes of DWTS. The show features Olympians and plenty of other people with dance training. They don’t all win in the end.

What can audience members expect to see in Season 30?

We know Dancing With The Stars will return sometime in September. But what else can we expect this year? Many fans want to know whether or not Season 30 will have a live audience.

In short, the jury is still out on that. Executive producer Tyra Banks says it’s not likely. However, the network hasn’t made an executive decision yet. Derek Hough, on the other hand, really hopes it can still happen.

“There’s definitely some really fun projects in the works, but there’s definitely one been confirmed that will be starting in the fall,” the six-time Mirrorball Trophy winner told Heavy. “One thing I can say is that Dancing With The Stars will be back in September and it’s gonna be an amazing huge season that I can’t wait for people to see. It’s gonna be good. I just can’t wait to see if we have an audience!”

And Derek isn’t the only star that feels that way. Val Chmerkovskiy even said Season 29 was “a shadow” of what the show once was.

Be sure to let us know in the comments what you hope Season 30 will look like. Would you like to see Charli or Dixie D’Amelio compete? Who else is on your dream cast list? We want to hear from you.
