Mama June spills how her family is like the Kardashians
The Kardashians are one of the most famous and well-known reality TV families. They, however, are no longer on air. The family dropped a bombshell on fans recently when they announced they would be walking away from reality TV. Fans of the family were bummed. But, they did understand. Keeping Up With the Kardashians had a 20 season run across 14 years. For the most part, the family’s story had been told.
During a recent interview with ET, Mama June admitted her family was starting to feel the same way. She noted it might be time for her family to walk away from reality TV.
We honestly think our life is kind of boring even though our life is kind of crazy and chaotic. But you know, there’s been those fans that have loved us there and in between. And in a way I do feel like it may be close to the time for us to just kind of, kind of like the Kardashians, to just bow out and say, ‘Thank you, we appreciate it.’ You know, we may have, like, one more season in us, and … at that point, what more is there to film?”
Basically, Mama June wanted to take one from the Kardashian playbook and step out of the reality TV spotlight. She just wanted it to be clear it isn’t that they don’t appreciate their fans… They just think their story might be done now.
Her family will have an easier time living a “normal” life
A key difference between Mama June’s family and the Kardashians is their fame. According to Pumpkin, her family has no trouble fading into the background when their show is not on the air and stays off the air for a while. A member of the Kardashian family, however, is unlikely to walk around in public or go to a restaurant without being spotted by fans.
So, this comparison might be a stretch on Mama June’s part. But, comparing her family to the Kardashian family isn’t as outlandish as it probably sounded.
