Honey Boo Boo, Mama June, & Pumpkin Leaving Reality TV?!
We’ve followed Honey Boo Boo, Mama June, and Pumpkin via reality TV for over a decade now. Could the family be ready to move on with the next chapter of their life. Turns out, they sat down with ET recently to discuss the possibility of walking away from reality TV.
Will Honey Boo Boo, Mama June, and Pumpkin leave reality TV?
Mama June tells ET she feels like the family is at the end of their reality TV story. She acknowledges that their life can be “crazy and chaotic” at times. But, mostly? Things have been put back together. And, they feel a little boring to still be the center of a TV show.
Lauryn seemingly agreed with her mother that walking away from reality TV made a lot of sense. Pumpkin admits she enjoyed doing reality TV because it provided a paycheck. And, it gave them a chance to share their story with the world.
But, she’s also ready to step out of the spotlight and live a “normal” life. According to Pumpkin, they are noticed a lot less when their show is not airing on television. So, she doesn’t sound like she’s too worried about retaining the notoriety for too long after exiting the spotlight.
“When we were off for a while during Mama’s addiction, we weren’t on TV, no one asked about us. I know that, like, no one would ask for pictures when we’d go out to the mall. No one would ask for a picture and those were the nice times. I’m not saying that we don’t enjoy taking pictures because I will take time out of my day whether I’m busy or not to take pictures with people, but I just think I’m at a point where I’ve been doing this for so long. But I feel like I just, at some point, we want to definitely step away.”
Bummed fans understand
Fans of Honey Boo Boo, Pumpkin, and Mama June don’t want to see this family walk away from reality TV. But, they do understand wanting to step out of the spotlight and live as normal of a life as someone who was once on reality TV can. Fortunately, fans would be able to get some updates from the family via social media if they do walk away from the TV show.
