“Yellowstone is the #1 show with tens of millions of fans based on the characters Taylor has created,” says President of MTV Entertainment Group, Chris McCarthy. There is no denying that Yellowstone is continuing to capture the hearts and minds of fans around the world. The series following the Dutton family as they protect their massive cattle ranch has dominated television since its premiere in 2018. Fans were left with a massive cliffhanger during the Season 3 finale. While fans wait for the upcoming Season 4 premiere, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is giving fans more to look forward to. A Yellowstone prequel entitled Y:1883 has already been announced. However, Sheridan has one other surprise up his sleeve. A spin-off of the modern-day western has been announced. Taylor Sheridan is going back to his home state of Texas for the Yellowstone series 6666.

Paramount Plus is quickly becoming the streaming service of the future. The online streaming industry has many big names as well as competitors. However, Paramount Plus is in the game. Chris McCarthy tells the vision of what Paramount Plus hopes to achieve.
“With Paramount+, our strategy is to supercharge subscribers by franchising our biggest hit IP like we’re doing with Yellowstone prequel Y:1883 and build new IP with marquee creative talent like Taylor.”
David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, had his own words to say about the talents of Taylor Sheridan.
“Taylor, Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios have been incredible partners to us at 101 over the years. Together, we have been able to build Yellowstone into an immersive universe for audiences globally. That is what we intend to do with these series as well. We will be introducing new characters and story lines alongside world-class talent and creators. We are very much looking forward to bringing these shows to life.”
Sheridan is creating four different television shows. One of these is the Yellowstone prequel Y:1883. The spin-off, however, has a working title of 6666. Sheridan describes the series by saying,
“Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing … The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world class cowboys are born and made.”
More From Sheridan
Sheridan is creating one other Texas-based series entitled Land Man. This series follows the oil industry in West Texas. Sheridan is a Texan who feels a deep responsibility to represent his native state. That is what Sheridan is doing with the series 6666 as well as Land Man.
Sheridan is creating another series as well entitled Mayor of Kingstown. Fans will be excited to know that The Avengers actor Jeremy Renner will be starring in this series.
I am happy to be re-teaming with #TaylorSheridan for the new series The Mayor Of Kingstown. Follow the McLusky family for a complex story surrounding the thriving incarceration industry in Michigan. Lets get to it @antoinefuqua!! pic.twitter.com/l2LA4pUO0s
