See The Bates Family’s Sunday Selfie

On Sunday, the Bates family shared a new family photo. It was taken either before or after church. Trace Bates is the one who shared it on social media. You can see it here.

He writes, “It’s a privilege to go to church on Sundays, but an even greater privilege to attend with family.”

While the photo features many of the family members, some of them are missing from the shot. Not everyone may have been able to make it to church, or they might not have made it in the photo. Notably, John Webster and Alyssa Bates live in Florida, while the rest of the family lives in Tennessee.

So, naturally, they weren’t there. Only 17 of the family members are in the photo. Kelly Jo and Gil Bates have 19 children, plus plenty of grandkids and sons and daughters-in-law. So, the photo only features a small fraction of the family members.

Fans of the family are loving the new photo and they are happy to see so many of the family members at once. They think that it’s great that the family all goes to the same church and gets to see Gil preach on Sundays.

Since the photo was taken on Valentine’s Day, which the family refers to as “I Love You Day,” fans are also commenting and wishing them a happy “I Love You Day.”

Where does the family go to church?

The family goes to church at the Bible Baptist Church in Clinton, Tennessee. It’s a Baptist church. In addition to attending church there, Gil is a pastor. So, the family gets to support their patriarch in his career as a pastor.

This isn’t the first time that the family has shared a Sunday selfie. Sometimes, various members of the family will share posts on Sundays after the church service. You can find those photos on their Instagram pages.

Warden and Trace recently posed for a photo in their Sunday bests.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, it looks like the family has continued attending church in person. It looks like the Bible Baptist Church does offer a live-streamed version of the service.
