Jill Dillard, Derick and The Kids Enjoy Snowy Days
Jill Dillard and Derick might not get on with her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar these days. But, she’s not letting that get her down over Christmas. Seemingly excluded from the Duggar family festivities, she and the kids nevertheless find other fun things to do this year. Now she, Derick and the kids had a blast playing in the snow. And, there’s nothing quite as much fun as a white Christmas!
Jill Dillard and the kids enjoy plenty of snow
We reported that Jill lets the kids watch Christmas movies, something the Duggar family frowned on when she grew up. Actually, any sort of TV except their own show seemed out of bounds. And even, then, it came as previews under strict supervision. Jill and Derick pretty much go their own way these days. And fans love that they obtained some independence from the rest of the Counting On family.
Jill Dillard already shared photos on Instagram of the kids helping decorate the tree. In one post, Jill revealed that the kids helped with “stringing dried oranges and cranberries for decor.” So, it looks like Christmas certainly gets a lot of seasonal activities in the Dillard house. Now, just around the corner from the big day, they all enjoyed playing in the snow.
White Christmas fun for the Dillards
Jill shared a photo on December 18. In it, she revealed the family built a large snowman. The kids looked very happy and proud of their achievement. The Counting On alum captioned her post with, “We’ve had a blast and are still enjoying the snow we got on Sunday!” Then, she noted that the snow seemed rather more than in recent times. She’s also very happy that it “stuck around for a few days.”
Noting their fun activities, Jill Dillard mentioned “sledding,” the “snowman” and “snow ice cream.” Hopefully, a bit more snow comes for Christmas Day. But even if it doesn’t, it certainly looks like the Dillard family made some special memories. Plus, she asked fans about their special fun days playing in the snow. Naturally, her many TLC fans responded.
Snow forts and hot chocolate
Some really fun ideas came in on Jill’s post. One fan suggested, “[building] a snow fort. Hot chocolate for everyone. 💕” That idea got some likes from other fans. Like Jill, others recalled their moms making them “snow ice cream.” And people lucky enough to have snow, also told Jill they love sledding with the kids. Many other ideas came in and some of them sound delightful.
Jill Dillard, Derick and the kids might enjoy one suggestion. A fan said, ‘spray paint” the snow. Put water in some empty spray bottles and put several drops of food coloring in each bottle.” Of course, many fans live in states and countries where it never snows. So, they can only look on and feel a bit envious. One of them lives in Australia and never saw one snowflake in their entire lives.
