Nikki Bella Gives New Details on Breastfeeding Journey
Nikki Bella already gave fans great insight into her views on breastfeeding. Luckily for fans, Nikki and Brie Bella continue to document their motherhood journeys on their show Total Bellas.
Nikki Bella proves that she thinks outside of the box when it comes to parenting solutions.
In a recent trailer for Total Bellas, Brie poses an interesting question to her twin. Brie wants to know if Nikki would ever let her breastfeed her son, Matteo. Seemingly without hesitation, Nikki responds, “no.” However, Brie informs Nikki that she would let her breastfeed her baby.
Furthermore, breastfeeding seems to be a common topic when Nikki Bella talks about her parenting journey. Nikki shares more on her nursing experiences with Us Weekly. Nikki Bella and Dancing With the Stars pro, Artem Chigvintsev’s son, Matteo, was born three months ago. Undoubtedly, a lot firsts are happening for the new mom.
For example, Nikki Bella details the progression of her breastfeeding journey. Notably, she acknowledges, “Breastfeeding is so tough.” While this may be intimidating to read for any fan that may be considering breastfeeding, Nikki goes into more details. In her experience, breastfeeding gets easier with time. “But now with him being three months old, it’s so easy. He knows what to do, and it’s now a beautiful thing.” Now the reality television star shares she and her son both love breastfeeding. However, she doesn’t forget the early struggles. “But that first two months, oh, gosh, it rocks you. It really does.”
How did the star prepare for breastfeeding?
Notably, Nikki doesn’t go into this journey blindly. Kudos to Nikki Bella for taking nursing classes before the birth of Matteo. She goes on to detail her birth experience. She says she pushes him out and then 15 minutes later “they put him on my breast.” However, even with taking classes, it seems Nikki didn’t know what to do. The former pro-wrestler remembers being like “What do we do? What’s going on?” Shockingly, Nikki doesn’t hold back when it comes to providing details. She says, “I mean, within a day I had blisters on my boobs because I didn’t know anything.”
Furthermore, it seems that Nikki feels like she could have done more to make breastfeeding easier. Brie Bella lets Us Weekly know that she suggests her twin sister meet with her breastfeeding doula. However, Nikki skips the Zoom meeting. Consequently, Nikki says “That’s a meeting I should have had, I agree.”
Luckily for pro-breastfeeding moms everywhere, it seems that Brie and Nikki Bella are doing their part to normalize breastfeeding.
