Rachel Lindsay has always been on Becca Kufrin’s side when it comes to her past relationship with Garret Yrigoyen. And now is no different. The former Bachelorette is opening up a bit more on the situation now.
Rachel Lindsay on Becca Kufrin
Becca and Garrett split earlier this year after two years of dating. The pair met on Becca’s season of The Bachelorette. It seems like they really loved each other and were good together. However, in the end, they didn’t work out.
Shortly after their split, Garrett posted a photo with his new girlfriend on Instagram, Us Weekly reveals. Rachel is talking about if she wants to set Becca up with someone too. Of course, she does. However, she wants to wait until Becca is ready for a relationship. She says that right now, Becca is having g great time being single.
“[I think about setting her up] all the time, but I want Becca to do it when she’s ready. I know that she is fully enjoying herself in L.A. She’s always wanted to be here. And those are sacrifices that you make in a relationship when maybe one partner doesn’t. So now that she is not tied down, she can live her best life, which she’s doing,” Rachel says about the star
However, Rachel doesn’t think dating isn’t in Becca’s future. She says that in fact, she thinks Becca is ready to start dating again.
“And I think Becca is open to start dating again, but obviously coming out of an engagement, she wants to make sure that she takes her time, and she does right, unlike other people,” Rachel says.
Why did they breakup?
The exact reason the couple called it quits is still unclear. However, it did come after it was revealed that Garrett had racist and homophobic viewpoints according to Rachel. Becca says that the split wasn’t based on one thing, but Rachel seems to think differently.
Earlier this year, she was quoted calling Garrett a “piece of sh*t” and saying that he has a “history of ‘liking’ things that were racist, sexist, homophobic,” Us Weekly reveals.
Of course, because of these comments, Rachel struggles with being blamed for the split. However, ultimately it seems like it was the right choice. Garrett has already moved on and Becca Kufrin is doing great on their own. It really just might not have worked out for the pair.
“It’s so important to be a friend. It’s crazy how people blame me. There’s a whole thing of blaming me for the breakup,” Rachel says. “I guess it was premature. Now people get why I said when I said. … One thing I am is loyal. I am very loyal to people that I love, maybe to a fault sometimes, but I love Becca, I support Becca and I really want Becca’s happiness. Becca is such a good person. And she deserves all the happiness in the world.”
