‘DWTS’: Carole Baskin Fulfilled Her Grandma’s Dream On The Show

DWTS Carole Baskin

DWTS contestant, Carole Baskin brought some controversy to this year’s show. Fans know her association with Tiger King. There’s no doubt that her missing husband’s family caused her some loss of confidence in her debut dance to Eye of The Tiger. In the Disney round, she got eliminated. But, one thing she takes from it is how she fulfilled her grandma’s dream.

DWTS Carole Baskin talked about her grandmother

Dancing With the Stars fans seemed rather shocked when Carole’s missing ex-husband’s family posted a commercial just before she danced her first dance. They still believe she killed him. But, even critics thought that advertising in that way seemed a bit crass. Anyway, she put it behind her and made a good effort. Carole made it through to Disney night before her elimination.

The whole time during DWTS, ET says she kept a journal of her experiences. The outlet noted that she talked about how everyone seemed very kind and “sweet” in the production team. And, she already misses them all. Plus, Carole mentioned that her Dancing with the Stars pro-dance partner hopes she stays in touch with him. And, she gave a shout out to co-executive producer Deena Katz who brought her in on the show. But then, she talked about her grandma and her dreams.

Grandma wanted Carole to be a star one day

Carole came from a family where dancing never got encouraged. But her grandma, “Momma Jacquie,” helped her mother raise Carole. She died in her mother’s care at “Big Cat Rescue in 2014.” However, as a child, Momma Jazqui felt very passionate about  Lucille Ball. So, she coached Carole on “balancing books” on her head. Plus, she taught young Carole how to hold out her “pinkie.” Then, she made sure her grandchild could “articulate clearly.”

The grandma of the DWTS contestant always hoped that one day, Carole ended up “a star.” And, in a way, Dancing with the Stars gave her that opportunity. So, Carole fulfilled her grandma’s dream a little bit, at least. And, now she turns her thoughts back towards animals. Carole and her husband Howard Howard “partnered with ITV America’s ThinkFactory Media.”

What’s next for Carole?

In the new show, Carole intends continuing her fight to expose people who abuse “exotic animals.” She still feels a deep desire to keep people fully informed on the cruelties of the exotic animal trade. Plus, she still works on attempting to get the “Big Cat Public Safety Act” passed. She credited the many people who voted and showed support for her on DWTS for helping with those efforts.

Maybe, from heaven, Carole Baskin’s grandma smiles down on her after her partially making a dream come true.
