‘Bachelor’ Matt James Looking Forward To Diverse Relationships Being Shown During His Season
Bachelor Matt James is looking forward to being the 2021 lead. He’s the first Black male lead for the franchise and looks forward to sharing diverse relationships with the world. Matt is open and ready for meeting the women that will be joining his season.

E! News shared details about Matt’s upcoming adventure as the Season 25 Bachelor. Monday night, Matt spoke with host Chris Harrison on The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons—Ever! He shared how excited he is to share diverse love stories with the world.
He also talked about how Black friends he has that aren’t associated with franchise are excited for him. Matt said, “I’ve heard from a lot of my Black friends that aren’t Bachelor Nation faithful that are excited about me and honored by the position I’m in.” He says this will be the first time Black people and other persons of color will be able to see a diverse love story unfold on the series.

A variety of people reached out
Matt also says he’s heard from a variety of acquaintances he’s had over the years. One in particular is his third grade teacher. Everyone is very excited to see Matt go on this journey for love. He said, “I hadn’t heard from her since I missed my book report. So, there’s people coming from all over the place to share their excitement. And it’s been nice.”
There are tons of fans and friends who are excited for Matt. He has a lot to offer and his season should be very entertaining.

Tyler Cameron shares details on a good match for Matt
Best friend and roommate, Tyler Cameron, also spoke out Monday night. He shared what he believed would be a good match for Matt. He said, “I think what you’re going to look for is someone who kind of resembles his mother. His mother is one of the sweetest ladies, very loving, caring, compassionate… Matt’s gonna change the world, and someone that’s ready to take on that challenge with him.”
Matt was originally going to be on Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette. That all changed when producers loved his energy level and character. He was then asked to be The Bachelor. While he’s disappointed about Clare, he is looking forward to his own journey.
And, he’s not the only one. Matt’s mom is already talking grandkids. In fact, she wants a whole basketball team worth of grandbabies. While he’s on board with having kids, he says a minivan full is good enough for him.
