‘Bachelor’ Matt James Reveals Mother Looking Ahead, Ready For Grandbabies
The Bachelor Matt James is ready to find love when his season starts filming. And, he’s not the only one looking for him to find love. Matt’s mother is also excited for his journey and what can come after. In fact, his season has not even started filming and she’s already talking grandbabies.
Matt’s mom is looking forward to grandkids
US Weekly shared what Matt had to say about his mom’s reaction to him becoming The Bachelor. Matt chatted with host Chris Harrison Monday night via video chat. His chat aired during The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever. During his chat he talked about his mom already wanting grandkids.
Matt said, “I think that the grandkid counter for my mom started when that announcement was made.” He continued,“She wants a basketball team! I’ll have a minivan, that’s the max.”
Amidst all the cries for more diversity, Matt was announced as the new lead on June 12. He was supposed to be on Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette, but that has obviously changed. Of course, everyone knows that Matt’s best friend is a very popular Bachelor alum, Tyler Cameron.

Tyler Cameron dishes on what kind of woman would be good for the new Bachelor
Entertainment Tonight shard what Tyler had to say. Tyler shared the kind of woman who would be good for Matt during Monday night’s The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever. Tyler said, “I think what you’re going to look for is someone who kind of resembles his mother. His mother is one of the sweetest ladies, very loving, caring, compassionate, ready to serve others, help out in the community.” He continued, “[Find] someone who is ready to get on the ground with Matt and change the world, because that’s what Matt is going to do. Matt’s going to change the world. And [he needs] someone that’s going to take on that challenge with him.”
These two bonded over how their mother’s raised them and impacted their lives. It was Tyler’s mom, Andrea, who nominated Matt to be on The Bachelorette. Andrea passed away unexpectedly in February from a brain aneurysm. He felt it was important to follow through with her wishes for him to be on the show.
His season has no set date for filming to begin just yet. Clare’s season of The Bachelorette will begin filming in a few weeks. As soon as more information surfaces, we will keep you posted.
