Katie Maloney-Schwartz is the latest Vanderpump Rules star to get political on social media. It seems she wants to use her platform for the greater good. On Saturday, June 28, the Bravo personality shared her thoughts on a recent situation. A couple pulled an AR-15 rifle and handgun at protestors who walked by their home in St. Louis, Missouri.

The couple nicknamed “Karen and Ken” received backlash for their actions that outraged many, including Katie herself. Prior to this, Katie brought attention to the Black Lives Matter movement. And just a few days ago, Kristen used her platform to address political issues. She showed her support for medical marijuana.

As per The Blast, the couple’s name is Mark and Patricia McCloskey. In the viral videos, the couple waves their rifles and scream at protestors who walk by. The protestors happened to be walking by the McCloskey’s mansion, which is also known as the Neimann Mansion.

Katie Maloney-Schwartz was just one of the many celebrities who shared her thoughts on the couple. In her latest Instagram Story, the Vanderpump Rules star shared a screenshot of the video and included her own thoughts.

Meanwhile, Katie has used her social media platform to address the Black Lives Matter movement. This comes after Bravo fired Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder for an incident in which they racially profiled former castmate, Faith Stowers. In the past, fans praised Katie for her past actions, which include speaking out against Jax Taylor’s cop prank.

Vanderpump Rules star addresses George Floyd’s death on social media

Katie Maloney-Schwartz has been more active on social media than her fellow castmates. Prior, she addressed the death of George Floyd. The 33-year-old shared several updates on her social media account, showing her support for the Black Lives Matter movement, as per The Blast.

First, she posted several photos to her social media accounts. The first one read: “Do not be silent!!! Enough is enough, educate yourselves and your friends and your neighbors. #blacklivesmatter.”

Katie has also called for people to “dismantle” the “white supremacy within” themselves to put an end to racism. Most VPR fans criticized Katie’s political posts. Meanwhile, others applauded Katie for making her opinions known. However, most of the comments have been negative.

Kristen Doute also got political on social media

Katie Maloney-Schwartz isn’t the only one speaking out on political matters lately. Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute shared her thoughts on medical marijuana. The reality star thought now was a good time to address the medical marijuana laws in Idaho, per The Blast.

On Twitter, she wrote, “Idaho. Time to change your Medical Marijuana laws. This country has much more important things to focus on. I’m so grossed out.”

Fans criticized Kristen for “tweeting about a random issue in a random state.” Others found the tweet inappropriate amid the anti-racism protests. Kristen revealed her connection to Idaho. Her brother lives there and has Crohn’s disease. He would prefer not to treat his condition with prescription medication.

Then she addressed her firing by adding, “I understand a handful of you feel I don’t have a ‘right’ to speak out about anything at all. Please click unfollow. I hope you’ll then use that same passion and find words to help someone, fight against something and make a change.”

Kristen has started to speak out since her firing from Vanderpump Rules. She previously addressed the cancel culture movement on her Instagram Stories.
