Amanda Bynes is celebrating her 34th birthday. It should be a happy occasion for the star, but sadly it’s not. That’s because her mother, Lynne Bynes, is “furious” to learn of her pregnancy. The retired actress is celebrating her birthday on Friday, April 3 in quarantine from the coronavirus pandemic.
A new report reveals that her mother is not happy over the baby news. That’s because Amanda can no longer take her “mental health meds.” This will make treating her illness even more complicated in the months to come. Amanda may not only be a danger to herself, but to her baby as well.
Amanda Bynes’ mom is not happy about her daughter’s pregnancy news
An insider told Us Weekly on Friday that Amanda Bynes’ mom knows what’s best for her daughter. And she knows that a pregnancy isn’t a good idea right now. The pregnancy will already have a negative impact on her daughter’s already fragile mental health state, according to the inside source.
The former Nickelodeon star announced that she and her fiancé Paul Michael, are expecting their first baby together. Another insider told Us Weekly that the couple were “very happy” to expand their family. The couple is serious about each other and want to take the next step in their relationship. But Amanda’s family is not feeling the same way.
“Amanda’s mom is furious she is pregnant as treating her mental health issues has become complicated,” the insider told Us Weekly. “Amanda doesn’t want to take some of the meds because of the dangers to [her] baby.”
This means more challenges for the couple. Paul Michael and Amanda Bynes split in March but reunited shortly before the baby news came out. Amanda dealt with substance abuse and mental illness, leading her mother to become her conservator since 2014.
Actress “will likely lose custody of baby to her father” amid her mental health struggles
There is more bad news for Amanda. Her ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues could impact her ability to receive full custody of her future child. Amanda is currently seeking treatment for her mental health issues. But an insider told The Blast that she “lacks the mental capacity to take care of the child” and her parents will find a way to put her baby in proper care.
Both of Amanda’s parents, who have control over her conservatorship, will have a judge review their daughter’s mental health and ability as a parent. It’s likely that Amanda’s parents will have full legal custody of her child. In addition, Amanda’s fiancé, will also have to file for custody. If he wishes, he’ll receive 50% custody of the child, and Amanda’s parents will pay him child support.
In addition, Amanda’s father is her trustee and since she cannot make financial decisions on her own, he will handle all child support payments to Paul. Amanda hoped her pregnancy and engagement was her way to get out of her conservatorship. Of course, her family will not allow it so it will play out in court instead.
Amanda Bynes will not receive full custody of her child and her parents will have a legal fight over the custody with the baby’s father.
