Tyler Duggar Celebrates Birthday—Who Is He?
Duggar fans know that all of the kids’ names start with the letter J. So, it comes as a surprise to know that Jim Bob and Michelle have a son named Tyler. Including Tyler, Jim Bob and Michelle have 20 children. This may also be a surprise to fans of the family. They were known for their show 19 Kids & Counting.
The family posted about Tyler’s 12th birthday on their Instagram stories on Monday. They shared a few pictures of him. They also shared about how he’s a thoughtful and fun kid.
The Duggar family didn’t reveal how they celebrated Tyler’s birthday. Jim Bob and Michelle were the only family members who shared birthday posts dedicated to Tyler on his birthday on February 10.
Who is Tyler Duggar?
Not all of the family’s followers recognize Tyler. He didn’t make an appearance on 19 Kids & Counting.
Jim Bob and Michelle were given temporary guardianship of Tyler in 2016. Tyler is Michelle’s niece’s son. Michelle’s niece’s name is Rachel Hutchins. In 2016, the 23-year-old was in a rough place. She was unemployed, homeless, and was dealing with her criminal history. So, it wasn’t necessarily the best situation for her son Tyler to be in.

It didn’t take long for Tyler to become an official part of the Duggar family. In Touch spoke with a source who said, “Jim Bob and Michelle couldn’t be happier right now. Jim Bob and Michelle have made the child feel right at home. They treat him like their own and he looks up to them as parents.”
Based on Jim Bob and Michelle’s posts on Tyler’s birthday, it sounds like he doesn’t call them “dad” and “mom”, but the family hasn’t offered an explanation for that.
Over the past couple years, fans have noticed Tyler showing up in the Duggar family’s social media posts. Sometimes, fans ask who the young man is. Because of how many comments the family receives, they can’t respond to all of them. But, it seems that not everyone is aware of the family’s 20th child.
Right now, Tyler occasionally gets to see his mother thanks to supervised visits. But, he officially lives with the Duggar family.
A welfare check in 2018 revealed that the young boy is healthy and happy in his new home. Based on what the family has shared, Tyler gets along well with the rest of the kids in the home.
