Disney Plus (Disney+) users rejoice because Toy Story 4 is finally here. The streaming giant just dropped the fourth addition to the Toy Story franchise into their library today (February 5th, 2020).
What other Toy Story movies are available on Disney Plus (Disney+)?
Disney Plus (Disney+) users that love Toy Story are in for a treat. In addition to Toy Story 4, all three other movies are also available for streaming. That, however, isn’t all. There are also several Toy Story shorts available on Disney Plus as well. These shorts include:
- Toy Story Toons: Small Fry
- Forky Asks A Question
- Toy Story Toons: Partysaurus Rex
- Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation
- Lamp Life
Unfortunately, one of the longer shorts from the franchise titled Toy Story That Time Forgot is not available via Disney Plus.
What is Toy Story That Time Forgot about?
Toy Story That Time Forgot is a side story that branches from Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4. So, it is possible because the fourth movie was just added to Disney Plus (Disney+) that users will see this short added soon as well.
“It’s a post-Christmas play-date and the toys have to go up against the fearsome and aggressive new dino toys,” the official synopsis of the short reads.
— Pixar (@Pixar) January 31, 2020
During the short, a handful of Bonnie’s toys go over to her friend’s house for a play date. Things, however, get a little dicey when they end up playing with a dinosaur play set that has no idea they are actually toys.
Presently, this short is available to purchase or rent via Amazon Video.
Other Toy Story shorts and specials not available on Disney Plus (Disney+) at this time include:
- Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
- Toy Story Treats
- Toy Story of Terror!
Why doesn’t the streaming library feature the entire franchise?
Prior to the existence of Disney Plus (Disney+) the streaming service sold streaming rights to other providers. These, unfortunately get in the way of having certain pieces of content in their library.
What exactly is Toy Story 4 about?
The release of Toy Story 4 was a little baffling to those who watched the first three installments of the franchise. After all, Andy grew up. He said goodbye to his toys. He gave them away. What could the fourth movie be about?
Well, the Toy Story 4 picks up right where Toy Story 3 ended. We see the toys go on all new adventures with their new owner Bonnie engaging in all of the exciting playtime.
Viewers see Bonnie hesitantly kick off going to kindergarten. But, not without her trusted pal Woody there to keep her comfortable. We also see a new character introduced named Forky. Forky is a pretty hilarious addition to the franchise as he comes to life after being constructed by Bonnie from a pile of trash. Unfortunately, Forky is a bit exhausting for the other toys as he has a hard time accepting that he is a toy and not trash.
