Gold Rush star Dozer Dave is returning with Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine Season 2. When is the new season airing on Discovery and what should gold mining fans expect in the second season?
Gold Rush Star Dozer Dave Turin Is Back!
Gold Rush fan favorite, Dozer Dave Turin, is back with his new show Dave Turin’s Lost Mine Season 2. The new season premieres on Friday, February 21 at 9 p.m. Eastern, on the Discovery Channel. This season, Dave has a goal of 400 ounces of gold. Will he find it in an abandoned gold mine before winter arrives and freezes him out?
According to Oregon Live, this season Todd Hoffman’s former right hand man has been concentrating on mines in the state of Montana. This is in contrast to the Dave Turin’s Lost Mine Season 1 when Dozer Dave traveled around the United States. Dave has shared that there are over 3,500 abandoned mines in Montana alone. This fan favorite certainly has his job cut out for him!
Dave Turin’s Lost Mine About Gold Mining And History
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Dave Turin’s Lost Mine is more than a show about gold mining. This a show that respects and shares stories about gold mining history. Unlike others in his field, his philosophy is “adhering to but exceeding environmental requirements when possible.” He wants to be more environmentally safe than what is required. Dave has shared that this sort of mining philosophy is “the way he believes is best.”
His philosophy extends into who he hires to work on his team. Dave only hires people who respect him. They need to see eye-to-eye with Dave and his methods of mining. Anyone who works with Dave Turin needs to share his ethics and vision.
Will Dave Turin Return to Gold Rush?
Although many fans may want him to return to Gold Rush and even reunite with Todd Hoffman, Turin has made it clear that he likes to call his own shots. Most of all, he has repeatedly shared that he likes to choose who works for him.
But, could he return to Gold Rush? The question mostly likely be whether he would return. He is always asked about this on his Facebook page and it seems that he prefers what he is doing now as he doesn’t have to be away from his family so long. Ultimately, this is why Todd Hoffman stepped away from the show.
For now, Gold Rush fans have to be happy that Dozer Dave is back on Discovery. Now, will he reach his modest 400 ounce goal?
