Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans is in the midst of a custody battle. Wednesday, a judge ruled that she no longer has custody of her children temporarily. This means that several family members have temporary custody of the kids.
Ultimately, the judge made this decision due to the risks of the children going back to the Evans-Eason home. Based on the recent events, this is not the safest environment for the children to be in. This is especially true until Jenelle and David make some necessary changes.
As of right now, it’s not known when or how David and Jenelle will regain custody of the children. From what it looks like, they will continue fighting to get their kids back.
This all began when David Eason, Jenelle’s husband, shot and killed the family’s dog. This was in response to the dog nipping at the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Ensley. Immediately, fans reacted to the dog’s death and thought that shooting the dog was quite extreme.
Since then, Child Protective Services has done an investigation of the home and has removed the children that were living there. Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, has legal custody of Jenelle’s son, Jace. Since the incident happened, Barbara has chosen to keep Jace away from David and Jenelle.
What is the Teen Mom 2 star’s reaction to losing custody?
On her Instagram page Wednesday, Jenelle posted a photo of herself with Maryssa and Ensley. In the caption, she writes, “My OFFICIAL STATEMENT on LOSING CUSTODY” and directs her followers to her bio.
On Wednesday, she released a statement to The Hollywood Gossip. In this statement, Jenelle says:
“I am currently following what my attorney has asked. I don’t want to speak publicly on the matter currently as that will jeopardize the possibilities of getting my kids back. I love my kids so much and I will do anything necessary to get them back and that is all I want everyone to understand. I ask everyone to have an open heart before they judge how the media is portraying me. I love being a mother and David and I will get through this. We are staying strong and united.”
Based on the statement, Jenelle seems serious about regaining custody of her kids. If she hopes to do this, it will take time and effort. It’s unclear what the next steps are exactly, but it looks like Jenelle is willing to try.
