Exclusive Interview: Actress/producer Alison Sweeney Talks ‘The Chronicle Mysteries’

Exclusives, News

Actress/producer Alison Sweeney has been working hard on her Hallmark movies lately. TV Shows Ace got the chance to talk to her exclusively and find out a bit of information on these movies. Here is what Alison had to say about working with Hallmark.

How did the idea of The Chronicle Mysteries come about?

I’ve been really obsessed with the whole true crime genre for a while I’ve listened to so many great podcasts and along the way it occurred to me that a podcaster would make a great character for a mystery series. I developed the idea and we pitched it to Hallmark. They agreed!

Do you know how many movies are planned in this series?

I hope a lot!! We have 3 already airing on consecutive Sundays beginning February 17 with another 4 in development.

When should viewers get to see the first movie?

Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered premieres Sunday, February 17 (9 pm/8 pm CT) on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The following two installments will air on February 24 and March 3.

Obviously, you enjoy working with Hallmark. What keeps you coming back to them?

I do love working with Hallmark. They’re very supportive of me and I feel very blessed to have such an incredible network stand with me to make strong female-driven content.

Can you tell us if Murder She Baked will return?

As far as I know, there are no plans for more. I loved playing Hannah and I love the idea that she and Mike are off solving crimes together in Minnesota.

Would you ever consider a return to Days of Our Lives?

I am back in Salem in the spring for a story regarding Grandma Caroline. It was so special and important that Days paid tribute to Peggy McCay’s passing. She was a wonderful strong, talented role model.

Are you working on any other projects at this time?

Yes! I’m very excited about making more Chronicle Mysteries!!
