’90 Day Fiance’: Jason Hitch Dead At 45 Of COVID Complications
The 90 Day Fiance world is a little sadder this evening. Former cast member Jason Hitch has passed away. He was only 45. Hitch’s sister shared the news of the reality star’s passing with TMZ yesterday and his co-stars have since reacted.
A 90 Day Fiance Romance
Viewers first met Jason when he appeared on Season 2 of the hit reality series. Hailing from Florida at the time, the then thirty-eight-year-old fell in love with Cassia Tavares from Brazil. The two became friendly via Facebook while Cassia was dating one of Jason’s friends. Clearly, her relationship with his friend fizzled out and he was able to make his move.
The two dated online and eventually, she came to the United States to live with him and his dad. However, it was not exactly what Cassia imagined. She seemed to be very bored and that was one of Jason’s big concerns. He did not want her to dislike the weather or the local nightlife. Jason was hopeful she would adapt and want to stay. He also knew it was going to be a long ninety days to make it down the aisle.
Jason was an Army vet and was very conscious about his money. He liked to go to garage/ estate sales and auctions then sell the goods online. Eventually, the couple started their own business where they had mail-order snacks. The two did marry but filed for divorce in 2018 after the marriage turned violent. By April, they dismissed the divorce yet Jason refiled in September and it was official soon after. Cassia went on to remarry earlier this year.
A Sad Passing
No word on where Jason’s life landed after he and Cassia divorced. Sadly, it has a very sad ending. His sister told TMZ he passed away in the ICU from COVID complications. She also confirmed he was not vaccinated. TLC gave PEOPLE a statement: “We are saddened to hear about the passing of Jason Hitch and send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this time.”
Danielle Mullins Jbali, who starred in the same season with Jason, shared her condolences alongside a photo of them on Facebook. It was a group photo of some of the Season 2 90 Day Fiance cast and many fans chimed in. “So very sad. Lives are being lost needlessly. Rest In Peace Jason. Condolences to his family and friends,” one commented. Another added: “So sorry to hear this. Prayers for his family and friends.”
No additional information has been released in terms of burial or memorial. Thoughts and prayers go out to Jason’s family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
