Why did Amy Halterman hire her sister a nurse, anyway?
As we previously reported, Amy Halterman got a taste of freedom when her sister Tammy Slaton went to rehab for food addiction. Unfortunately, her stay at rehab was cut short. After losing 60 pounds, she decided she wanted to come home before she hit her 100-pound goal.
Fans disagreed with the family’s decision to make it so easy for Tammy to come back home. But, Chris Combs explained that once Tammy decided she was done with rehab, there was no way she was going to continue to lose weight or be successful there.
Amy Halterman realized she didn’t want to take care of Tammy while taking care of her son. So, she made the decision to get her sister a home health aide. The home health aide would step in to help take care of Tammy. And, Amy would finally get the freedom she wanted from her sister.
1000-Lb. Sisters fans LOVE Nurse Tisa
Nurse Tisa was introduced to Tammy Slaton during tonight’s episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters. Amy Halterman stayed at the house while Tammy and Tisa were getting to know each other. Tammy pushed and tested boundaries and Tisa seemed to push right back.
Amy made an effort to pull Tisa aside a few times to make sure she knew her sister could be rude and difficult. And, she needed Tisa to stick to her guns or Tammy would take advantage of the situation. Amy Halterman expressed it was important that the nurse was helping Tammy with stuff — but, not doing everything for her.
On social media, 1000-Lb. Sisters amid they were in LOVE with Tammy’s new home health aide. Fans called her an “angel.” And, they hoped Tammy Slaton didn’t ruin this “beautiful person.” Here’s some of what fans had to say on Twitter about Nurse Tisa:

Some fans worry Tammy Slaton will run off Nurse Tisa
Now, 1000-Lb. Sisters fans made it clear they absolutely love Nurse Tisa. They welcome this addition in Tammy’s life and they hope things work out between her and Tammy. But, most fans admit they worry Tisa is not going to last. They note Tisa seems like a great person. And, they think Tammy is going to ruin her and run her off.
