Who Is Tammy Slaton & Amy Halterman’s Sister Amanda?
The third season of 1000-lb Sisters is well underway. We’ve seen sisters Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman struggling with their weight again, as well as their brother Chris Combs. But this season, we’re also going to get to know their sister Amanda too. But who is she and what exactly can we expect to see from her?
Tammy Slaton may need her sister Amanda to put her in her place
During 1000-lb Sisters Season 2, fans saw Amy Halterman experience the joys of motherhood. Unfortunately, it’s not getting easier for her to take care of Tammy Slaton too. The women are calling on their other siblings for help these days and it’s only a matter of time before Amanda arrives on the scene. Amy describes her sister as “a little bit rough.”

On fan boards, many viewers believe that Tammy Slaton desperately needs a force like Amanda in her life. Amy Halterman tries her best, but nothing seems to work. Some fans even believe that Amy enables Tammy’s bad behavior. Many weren’t pleased that Amy allowed Tammy to move back in after her very short stint in rehab.

The sisters look into home healthcare to make things easier
As much as Amy tries to motivate Tammy, nothing seems to change. Now that Amy is busy being a mother, she doesn’t have the time or energy to dedicate to Tammy any longer. That’s why the women looked into hiring a home healthcare nurse.
During the latest episode, we saw the sisters interview various nurses. In teasers for the new episode, we see that they decided on Nurse Tisa. And this healthcare worker definitely has what it takes to stand up to Tammy Slaton.
In one part of the teaser, we see Nurse Tisa offer to help Tammy make a salad. Of course, Tammy does not want a salad.
“Once she gets mad like that, and she don’t have the things that she wants, you gotta kind of push her,” Nurse Tisa says. “I don’t want her to never say that, ‘I can’t.’ That’s not gonna go. She can do it.”
Between Amanda and Nurse Tisa, Tammy definitely has a lot of people pushing back on her this season. This may be what she actually needs in order to turn her life around for the better.
