‘The Family Chantel’: Will River & Megan Survive Karen’s Meddling?
The Family Chantel returned for Season 3 on October 11th. Of course, it is filled with the typical familial meddling and drama viewers have grown to depend on. As some of the cast continues to grow and evolve, one person who can’t help herself is Mama Karen. She is always up in her children’s business. Now that her son, River is successfully happy with Megan, is she destined to tear them apart?
The Family Chantel’s History of Meddling
When Pedro and Chantel were introduced in Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance, it was not just the K1 visa hurdles they faced. Their families were both very involved in the relationship. Pedro’s family believed he should be taking better financial care of them now that he was in America. His sister, Nicole also loved to stir the pot as it was evident she was not a fan of Chantel at all.
Nicole has no problems accusing her brother of cheating on Chantel in front of the whole family. She does it like she is delivering the morning news. As for Chantel, she is no saint. Her sister, Winter has struggled with weight issues. She believed Chantel just did not want a “fat sister.” There was a time Winter lost fifty pounds but still contemplated weight loss surgery.
Though she opened up about what was going on, Chantel believed Winter could benefit from working out more. Ultimately, Winter went on to lose more weight and share body-positive selfies on Instagram. However, Chantel’s brother, River is still in the firing squad with their mother, Karen. He has found love and is happy. Yet, with mama meddling, could it all fall apart?
River and Megan- Plus Karen?
Despite a five-year age gap (Megan is five years River’s senior) and four hours between them, the two seem blissfully in love. Unfortunately, River has been reluctant to share the news with his mother, Karen. For very good reason. She lets him know that like with all of her kids, it does become her business. Maybe this is why he is being so elusive and secretive.
Luckily, some viewers and fans are in support of their relationship. According to Meaww, here is what one person had to say: “It’s so sweet to see River and his lady friend. I wonder how things will go for them. I hope she’s ready if she meets the family to deal with them.” Unfortunately, not everyone was so kind. One commented he is being played but only time will tell.
