Below Deck Med Season 6 chief stew Katie Flood shared the conversation she had with Lexi Wilson. The show didn’t air this moment between the two. While this season has had its share of ups and downs, Katie revealed that a shocking twist is coming. Of course, she couldn’t share any more details. For now, viewers will have to keep watching to see what happens next.
Currently, Katie is beside herself about her job. She’s not sure whether she should fire Lexi. Captain Sandy Yawn brought up new stew Delaney Evans to help the interior team, but her green skills and work ethic are less than stellar. Katie is stressed out about what to do with her situation.
Why the Below Deck Med chief stew didn’t want to fire Lexi
In a new interview, the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 6 star recalled a conversation she had with Lexi Wilson. Unfortunately, viewers won’t get to see it happening. Katie Flood shared the juicy details with Hollywood Life. She has tried to be patient with Lexi up to this point.
However, that hasn’t always been the case. There are times when Katie will feel overwhelmed or have a good cry. Former chief stews revealed that they would’ve fired the former beauty pageant contestant after her drunken outburst. Katie originally considered firing Lexi before, but wanted to be empathetic towards her situation.
Early on in the season, Lexi revealed that her father passed away. She was having a hard time dealing with his death. However, some fans don’t think it’s an excuse for her controversial behavior. Lexi has already lashed out at her crew members, causing some to distance themselves from her.
“We found out she [lost] her dad,” Katie told Hollywood Life. “I’m such an empathic. That was really hard for me because I don’t like to beat somebody when they’re down but at the same time, this girl can’t act this way. It was a real struggle to me to find that balance instead of being like, ‘OK sister, this is not all good.’ but also, ‘Are you OK?'”
Katie Flood shares her never-before-seen conversation with Lexi Wilson
Katie shared that she had a personal conversation with Lexi. The two talked about mental health. She wasn’t sure if the polarizing Below Deck Med star would be able to handle the pressures that come with the job. Lexi was clearly in a fragile state. That conversation did not air this season.
“I did say to her at one point. I don’t think they showed it,” Katie explained. “I said to her at one point, ‘I want you to think about this, Lexi. If you think this is the right environment for you. Your mental health is much more important than anything going on here and I will support you through that but I need you to be honest with me.’ It was a tough one for sure.”
She felt that she needed to have that difficult conversation with the stew. Katie also teased about a twist that’s set to take place this season. Some fans have a feeling that Lexi will have another blowup before the end of the season. Katie claims that this stew isn’t the one who’s causing all the drama.
