‘Below Deck’ New Season 9 Preview; Captain Lee’s New Charter Is Epically Bonkers

Below Deck, News

Below Deck is back for lucky season number nine, and by lucky, we hope that Captain Sandy’s Chef Mathew Shea is nowhere near Captain Lee Rosbach, who likely would have chucked him overboard. Captain Lee has had a tough time—medically speaking—since unlucky season eight.

Your First Look at Below Deck Season 9 is here as First Officer Eddie Lucas and Chef Rachel Hargrove are back, but when a delay leaves Captain Lee Rosbach stranded on an island, can the crew come together under the management of a new captain?

Likely not.

In the new preview, Captain Lee is MIA until he makes a recovery from a fall and is back from medical leave.

In the interim, mayhem, fear, hijinks, and dereliction of duties go down as the stews grouse about washing sex toys, and the bosun is praying that Captain Lee makes a fast return.

Below Deck is Bravo’s Most-Watched Series

Below Deck returns for season nine on Monday, October 25, and streams the next day on Peacock.

The series is dining on the fact that they finally scored its first-ever Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program.

This season we head to the stunning waters of St. Kitts in the Caribbean, as superyacht My Seanna welcomes back veterans Eddie Lucas, in his new role as the first officer, alongside chef Rachel Hargrove who is ready to redeem herself after a memorable last charter season.

New blood is onboard. We will meet chief stewardess Heather Chase, and stews Jessica Albert and Fraser Olender, and deckhands Jake Foulger, Rayna Lindsay, and Wes O’Dell.

Bravo says:

When an unexpected delay leaves Captain Lee stranded on land, Captain Sean Meagher steps in to oversee the ship with a “hands-on” management style catching the crew off guard and yearning for the “Stud of the Sea’s” swift return.

The action on My Seanna

Newly promoted Eddie’s new role as the first officer is derailed when he comes to learn he must pull double duty on deck if he wants his team to succeed.

Chief stew Heather is eager to deliver her guests an unforgettable experience. Still, when one of her stews becomes utterly unmotivated, she has to pick up that slack and maintain her five-star service.

And, chef Rachel must have an accord with Eddie from their bad blood last season.

Bravo quips: “As department “boat-mances” blossom, alliances form and bonds are broken, this crew proves the Caribbean seas are as choppy as they are clear.”

Below Deck is killing it in ratings.

Below Deck scored last season and delivered 2.5 million total viewers, 1.5 million P25-54, and 1.1 million P18-49 on linear, ranking as the second-highest-rated cable reality series of the year to date.

The first seven seasons of Below Deck streaming are now on Peacock, with season eight launching on the platform on September 25.
