‘Bringing Up Bates:’ Josie Balka Celebrates Two Months With Baby Hazel
It’s an exciting time for the Bringing Up Bates family. Josie Bates Balka recently gave birth to her second baby, a daughter named Hazel Sloane. After she was born, Hazel had to spend some time in the NICU. Josie shared that, throughout her pregnancy with Hazel, her blood was fighting against her daughter’s blood. After she was born, doctors found that she has an “exceedingly rare blood condition.” The baby also had jaundice.
Fortunately, she went home after a short time in the NICU. On social media, Josie has been sharing updates about her new baby as she grows. Hazel joined her big sister Willow at home, and the sisters seem to be getting along well already.
In a new Instagram post, Josie gives fans an update on Hazel. The mom of two shares two new snaps of the baby, who’s wearing a cute, yellow floral outfit and a headband bow. In one of the photos, the new baby is snuggling up with her mom. The second picture is of the baby sleeping peacefully.
In the new post, Josie writes, “Two months with Hazel and it gets sweeter every day. 💕”
Shortly before sharing this post, Josie shared a few new family photos of herself, her husband Kelton, and their two little girls. She opened up about the adjustment from one child to two, writing, “We might be more sleep deprived than ever, but we’ve never been happier!!”

The Bates family’s fans can’t help but obsess over the sweet new photos of Baby Hazel. They are glad to know she’s doing well now after her time in the NICU.
Josie’s mom Kelly Jo Bates writes, “How has it already been two months??!!! What an angel!!!! I could hold her all day!! ❤️”
In the comments section of Josie’s post, fans are also pointing out that Hazel looks a lot like her big sister Willow. They are calling her “Willow’s twin.” Others are commenting on how “precious” and “beautiful” the baby is. They are looking forward to more updates about her as she grows too.
