Austin Forsyth Catches Heat For Risking Gideon’s Safety: See Photo
Joy Duggar’s husband Austin Forsyth is catching heat for risking Gideon’s safety. It was a week ago that Austin Forsyth shared a few snaps of himself and Gideon spending some time in the garage together. Naturally, some Duggar fans thought Gideon spending time in the garage helping his father work on cars was adorable. Others, however, had some serious concerns about the safety of Joy and Austin’s son.
Father and son spend time working together
It was a week ago that Austin Forsyth shared a photo of himself and Gideon working in the garage. They were changing some oil together. In total, his Instagram post included three different pictures. The second two photos featured the proud father handling the oil by himself. The first photo, however, featured father and son working together to change the oil.
Both Austin and Gideon are completely covered from head to toe in oil and grease in the photo. They both have pretty serious expressions on their face as they work to get the oil changed.
Joy doted on the precious photo in the comments. She noted their son really enjoyed getting to go to work with his father. Jinger Vuolo also chimed in to add how precious the photo was.
In a week’s time, the photo has been liked over 11,000 times. Many fans gushed about how adorable the photo was. And, how much they appreciated this window into the Forsyth family’s life.
One follower penned: “Daddy & his little helper.”
“My dad started me that young and when I was in my 20’s I was making helicopters fly. Keep it up,” another chimed in.
A third appreciated: “Love seeing a Daddy teaching things to their sons. Y’all are great parents.”
Unfortunately for Austin, not everyone was supportive of this photo. In fact, some had big concerns about Gideon’s safety.

On Facebook, fans noted they wanted to love this photo. But, they couldn’t look past the safety issues. Some took issue with all of the oil on the ground. They were also uncomfortable with the amount of oil on Gideon. The bigger issue, however, was Gideon’s footwear. Why was he wearing open-toed sandals?
That little guy should have work boots to protect his little piggies like his dad is wearing.”
The response to the criticism regarding Gideon’s safety was a bit mixed. Some agreed. Why did Austin have boots on while Gideon’s toes were completely exposed? Others, however, defended Austin and told the person who left the criticism comment to “keep the negativity” to themselves. The same individual, however, responded to add that there is a difference between negativity and safety.
