TLC adds another new series, Love In Paradise to their discovery + streaming platform. At first glance, the newly released trailer looks like something from The Bachelor franchise, but looks can be deceiving. Is discovery +’s new series, Love In Paradise: The Caribbean just another 90 Day Fiance spinoff?
New series, Love in Paradise is a 90 Day Fiance spinoff
Apparently, TLC/discovery + viewers can’t get enough of the 90 Day Fiance concept. Assumably, this new series is a part of the 90 Day Fiance franchise because the full title is Love In Paradise: The Caribbean – A 90 Day Story. TV Insider confirms that this show is a 90 Day Fiance spin-off. The outlet also notes that there are 18 90 Day Fiance spinoffs. Notably, the spinoffs are spread across network programming on TLC and streaming on discovery +.
Love in Paradise is available for streaming on discovery + beginning June 18th. Consequently, TLC drops the promo trailer on their social media today (June 16). The caption reads, “Summer is heating up! But can these sun-kissed romances stand the test of time? 🌴 Anything can happen on the new series #LoveInParadise: The Caribbean.”
Dramatic details from the trailer
The first cast member explains that she met her boyfriend while she was on vacation in Jamaica. Then, she shares that he works at a swingers resort. He chimes in with “crazy stuff goes on here.” Simultaneously, the script for the trailer says, “Four Americans found love in paradise.” Then, while panning over a beautiful view, the text reads, “but can it last?”
Tropical destinations for the new series, Love In Paradise include Costa Rica, Barbados, Panama, and Jamaica. Speaking of Jamaica, one of the couples conceived while the American was on vacation. It wasn’t until a month after she got home, that she found out. One of the Americans asks if this is his first child or if he has more with other tourists. The drama doesn’t stop there, watch the trailer below.
