Discovery and Georgia Aquarium Partnership Adds Aquatic Content And Conservation Awareness

Otters everywhere are slapping their tummies, and the seals are barking as Discovery and the Georgia Aquarium, one of the finest in the USA, are partnering up to add content and raise conservation awareness for the world’s oceans and the sea life and animals who need protection.

This collaboration will see the network deliver better and more unique real-time and immediate access to aquatic life and the experiences rarely seen in most televised footage.

The Aquarium ran for two seasons on Animal Planet, and it gave viewers a remarkable backstage pass to the Georgia Aquarium. Now you can catch this series in its entirety on discovery+.

Real-Time Access to Georgia Aquarium and Aquatic Animal Experiences Across Discovery’s Multi-Platforms and discovery+

Discovery and Georgia Aquarium together will increase the availability of this special content through a multi-platform partnership.

This collaboration promises immediate access to cutting-edge and fascinating real-time content that will highlight Georgia Aquarium’s global conservation efforts “and major milestones of the animals who call the 11 million gallons of water at the Atlanta-based aquarium home,” according to the press release.

What will we see?

Babies! Well, more than that. But the little ones are always fun to see welcomed at the Aquarium.

The content will include milestone moments with animals, featuring the excitement and the newsworthy birth of animals, the day-to-day activities at the aquarium, and expert-led analysis of animal stories in the news.

Discovery says:

Other content will include virtual field trips; social media live stream events with animals and aquarists; in-depth photo galleries on Discovery.com; and content that will help raise awareness of endangered aquatic species.

“We are pleased to partner with Georgia Aquarium to bring the Discovery audiences up-close to a wide range of extraordinary creatures as we celebrate aquatic animals and their milestones with excitement and immediacy,” said Kristen Variola, Senior Vice President, Multiplatform Production and Digital Strategy, Discovery in the press release. “We hope to inspire and educate across all our platforms about not just aquatic animals, but the environments they inhabit while fostering a connection to our natural world.”

“We are thrilled for this new partnership with Discovery which allows us to bring Georgia Aquarium to an even larger audience and connect them with the waters of the world,” said Dr. Brian Davis, President, and CEO of Georgia Aquarium. “We hope to highlight the issues facing our aquatic ecosystems and what people can do to preserve these unique habitats. Partnering with Discovery, their incredible reach, and innovative platforms will be instrumental in continuing our mission of inspiring healthy respect for the aquatic world.”
