What Is Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard’s Rescue Dog’s Name & Breed?
As we previously reported, Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard added a new member to their family. The couple and their two sons, Israel, 5, and Samuel, 3, went to the animal shelter. Though they didn’t plan on adopting a dog that day, they fell in love with a pup they had previously seen online. They were surprised that she was still available and took her home.
They documented their trip to the animal shelter, as well as bringing the dog home, in a YouTube video. The family seems very excited to have a new pet. She’s their first family pet.
Now, the couple took to YouTube again to share additional details about the dog as she adjusts to her new home.
Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard share the dog’s name
In a new YouTube video, the couple announces the dog’s name. While she was at the shelter, her name was Grendel. As the family drove home from the animal shelter, they discussed the dog’s name and decided they might change it later on. Now, the Duggar-Dillard family announced that the dog’s name is Fenna.
In the comments section of Jill’s Instagram post and YouTube video, fans are commenting and talking about how cute the name is. They seem to like the name the family picked out for her.

In their original YouTube video, the couple reveals that she’s a Belgian Shepherd Mix. Because she’s from the animal shelter, the family doesn’t have all of the details about her breed.

On YouTube, the couple’s second video about the dog features them revealing her name and preparing the house for her. At one point, Derick heads to the pet store to purchase some items for her since they didn’t plan on bringing her home.
Jill does say that she’s a little worried about the dog potentially biting the kids, but fans reassure her that the dog will adjust well and just needs some time. Fans are also giving Jill tips for how she can help to ensure the boys and the dog get along well. In one of her Instagram posts, Jill asked her fans to send her tips and tricks. In response, she’s getting lots of suggestions.
