Has The DuckTales reboot been canceled or renewed for Season 4? Here’s what we know.

The DuckTales reboot (also referred to as DuckTales 2017) has had a home on The Disney Channel for a few years now. The reboot premiered on August 12, 2017. Season 3 of the animated series premiered on April 4, 2020. To date, the The DuckTales reboot has aired a total of 65 episodes. Now, Disney fans can’t help but wonder if we will see a Season 4. Canceled or renewed? Keep reading to find out.

Those close to the production of the series speak out

It is important to keep in mind, Disney has not made an official announcement on Season 4 of The DuckTales reboot. But, we do know the series has a pretty healthy fan base. In fact, there is a “Renew DuckTales 2017″ hashtag trending on Twitter because people want it to happen. Now, a few individuals close to the production team of the series have come forward. Unfortunately, you may not like what they have to say.

First, the Collider editor Drew Taylor took to Twitter last night. He revealed the series has been done for a while now. And fans shouldn’t hold out hope for a Season 4.

In the tweet below, he admits he loved seeing the hashtag related to saving the show. But, it was a lost cause. Moreover, he wasn’t really sure why Disney hadn’t made an effort to announce DuckTales was canceled.

He proceeded to explain why people should take him at his word. Turns out, the creative talent behind the series had moved on. Season 3 was always intended to be the end of the series.

A few hours passed and voice actress Kari Wahlgren seemingly confirmed the cancelation of The DuckTales reboot in her own words. As you can see in the tweet below, it certainly sounded like she was saying goodbye to the series.

Season 4 isn’t happening, but fans will see new episodes of The DuckTales reboot

While we know The DuckTales reboot has not been renewed for a Season 4. And, we now have reason to believe the series was canceled… There are still new episodes fans have not seen. Technically, the Disney Channel series is on a midseason hiatus. This means viewers will still get to enjoy the second half of Season 3 before the series comes to an end. The second half is expected to air next year.

Naturally, some fans are waiting for The Disney Channel to confirm the news before they lose hope. After all, it is possible Disney Plus or perhaps a different streaming service could pick the show up.

Now, Drew Taylor reassures fans of the series to understand this as a “logical end” as opposed to the show being canceled without an ending. The unfortunate truth is all good things come to an end. No show can go on forever. And, it sounds like that is what is happening here.

Fans can watch The DuckTales reboot on Disney Plus, Disney Now, YouTube TV, FuboTV, or Hulu. Unfortunately, there is no release date for the second half of Season 3 at this time.
