In case you didn’t already hear, Jeannie Mai is no longer competing on Dancing With The Stars. The Real hostess suffered a medical emergency and withdrew from the competition this morning. Fans and colleagues alike are heartbroken. Her Dancing With The Stars partner, Brandon Armstrong, left a touching message for her on social media.
Jeannie Mai’s Social Media Is Flooded With Well-Wishes
“JEANNIE! I’m so sorry this happened to you! You don’t deserve it!” Armstrong, 26, captioned a photo of himself and Mai from a past episode. “Your journey on this show was so special so unique and so inspiring! I loved EVERY SINGLE WEEK that we got to go through this together!” Brandon wrote, alongside an image from their Disney Night performance.
“I hope I helped give you an experience that you’ll remember forever! We share a lot of good times, tough times and all the times in between but mainly, a lot of laughs!” he added. “Mainly you laughing at me but hey I’ll take it! 😂thank you for giving me such an amazing season! We will all be praying for a speedy recovery! ❤️ #teamdreamofjeannie always! 🙏🏽🔥”
Fans and even other Dancing With The Stars competitors wished Jeannie the best and a speedy recovery.
Jeannie was incredibly disappointed about the news as well. She released a statement to ET which reads,
“My doctors discovered a health concern with my throat which requires immediate attention and surgery. I am heartbroken that my DWTS journey has to end here. The last several weeks have been an amazing learning experience. I have pushed myself to new limits physically and mentally, and I am so proud of how far we’ve come. I can’t thank my partner Brandon enough for being so supportive and believing in me.”
The medical condition is apparently epiglottis. If left untreated, it can cause the throat to swell, which can block the airway. Everyone will miss Jeannie Mai on the show but can agree that health comes first.
The Competition Continues With A Few Changes
Dancing With The Stars was originally supposed to feature a double elimination night in honor of the Presidential Election tomorrow night. However, with Jeannie’s withdrawal, the show will only eliminate one couple. No one is sure who will go home next. It could be anyone’s game. Make sure to vote and keep your favorite couples safe.
The competition continues in just a few hours. Make sure to tune in to ABC at 8 PM eastern time and see what happens next. Who do you think will go home? Who will take home the Mirrorball Trophy? Let us know what you think in the comments.
In the meantime, be sure to send Jeannie Mai some positive thoughts and well-wishes. She will definitely need them!
