Hallmark’s The Christmas Bow promises musical delights and a touching love story. Starring fan favorite Michael Rady (Christmas At Pemberley) and Lucia Micarelli (Treme), this is a story of believing in yourself, when all hope is gone.

What Is Hallmark’s The Christmas Bow About?

Violinist Kate (Micarelli), has always dreamed of playing for the Rocky Mountain Philharmonic. But, all of her hopes and dreams are dashed by a freak accident. Now, it is Christmas time and she has to go home to recuperate. Are all of her hopes and dreams dashed by this serious hand injury? Can therapy save her hand? Moreover, can she believe in her dreams again?

Back home, Kate reconnects with Patrick (Rady), her physical therapist. Kate and Patrick have known each other for ages through their families. She also reconnects with Patrick’s younger cousin, Gavin (Kenneth Cummins, The Road Home for Christmas ).

Despite these uncertain times, Kate finds love with Patrick. He believes in her, as he helps her rehab her injuries hand. Kate also gets support from her Grandpa Joe (James Saito, Altered Carbon). He instills some wisdom and helps her find the gumption she needs to overcome this difficult time and go after her dreams.

Lucia Micarelli Is A Juilliard Trained Violinist

Hallmark’s The Christmas Bow features Lucia Micarelli. Playing since she was only three, she is a professional violinist who has played with the likes of Josh Groban, Trans Siberian Orchestra and Jethro Tull. Interesting enough, her own personal musical journey mirrors that of Kate in the Hallmark movie.

According to a 2010 interview with Esquire, on one Fourth of July, prior to joining Treme, Micarelli fell down and landed on a wine glass. She suffered a serious injury. She cut her left hand and severed “a couple of nerves.”

At that time, she did not know if she could ever play professionally again. Luckily she rehabbed quickly, but she admitted that she could not fully feel three of her fingers. But, acting seems to have given her an opportunity to broaden her creative gifts.

Lucia Micarelli is a talented artist and Hallmark fans will certainly enjoy watching the 37-year-old in her first Hallmark movie!
